1.8.8 bug in syncing contacts from Phone to Outlook 2002

With 1.8.8:
- New contacts created on the phone are properly identified as new contacts when I multisync and I am given the prompt to confirm (I have confirm on 1+ changes set in my option). I check the option to create new entry in Outlook, but in fact no new Outlook entries are created (and no displayed errors). If I run multisync again, I will get the same dialogue for the new contact entries on the phone, and it will fail again.
+ Sync from Outlook to phone works fine
+ Calendar and notes sync fine in both directions.
- Rebooting both phone and computer doesn't help, nor does reinstalling MPE 1.8.8.

With 1.8.7 (I rolled back):
+ Works as expected with no issues on sync (but if I then reinstall 1.8.8 the problem returns with any additional newly created contacts on the phone)

Totally reproducible.

PC :Outlook 2002 SP3 on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit
Phone: Blu R1 HD Android 6.0

Umm, what does the 1.8.8_nightly not have (5150KB) that the 1.8.8 released has (8280KB)? I'm willing to test bug fixes but kind of would like to know what to expect, how much backing up of my data I should do beforehand, etc. Just from the file size, it seems like a lot of stuff is missing in the debug update version ...

With the nightly you change only the file MyPhoneExplorer.exe
Please install the Nightly simply "over" the standard version.

Indeed that version solves the problem--thanks!

(I was not expecting that it would since the file date of MyPhoneExplorer.exe is a few days before I reported the problem and also nothing seemingly related to it is in the MinorChanges.txt file, but indeed it does. Maybe add that to the list of problems fixed in the MinorChanges.txt file?)

I've just done one short and simple test with it, but will report back if it continues to be a problem.

This has fixed my problem to.

For the record I'm using Outlook 2007 but the problem started when I got my new Samsung S8 phone running Android 7.0 and Samsung Experience version 8.1
Many thanks!

Thank you, issue solved

Hello,
I am very satisfied with this software.
At the beginning of the year, I noticed that it had become impossible to sync contacts; same problems on different PC, all under Windows 10, some with Outlook 2007, one with Outlook 2010
I suspected that it was linked to installation of MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.8
I found this post this morning, and the installation of MPE 1.8.8 nightly instantly solved the problem (at least on a PC with Outlook 2007, I will test the others later)
Thank you again for maintaining this software,
Best regards,
Pancho

MPE 1.8.8, SYNC stops working

I entered a post in a different section (Posted: Thu Jul 13, 2017 02:34) that sounds like the same problem. MPE stops working when I try to sync contacts or backup. I have tried the "nightly" version and will continue to do so at least weekly until it works.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ / Android 7.00
MPE Version 1.8.8_Nightly / Client 1.0.43

The nightly build fixed my issue with Outlook 2010:

I've been using MyPhoneExplorer v1.8.8 with the LG V20 and it works except the contacts sync keeps creating duplicates on the phone. MyPhoneExplorer will say, "No contacts on phone! Transfer Contacts from program to phone?" and it doesn't matter if I click on Yes or No because it will create duplicates on the phone anyway. I have to use a Delete All Contacts app on the phone and then sync for Outlook contacts to overwrite the phone.
