One of the most common issues people i know seem to have, is that when they change their phones, there is no way to automatically transfer to the new phone all installed applications along with their respective desktop shortcuts.
This leads me to the following question-wish: is there a way to backup and restore the desktop shortcuts of a device?
Question-wish about desktop shortcuts
If they are rooted they can use an app such as Swift Backup from the Play Store for apps/apps-data. For desktop stuff they can use an alternative launcher such as Nova launcher which can backup/restore the users desktop (phone-top ..??) settings.
They're what I use. Plus MPE of course to get contacts and calendars to my phone.

So, the default android launcher does not place the desktop layout in some location accessible to other applications? I've suspected as much for quite a while, but i would like a confirmation...dvhttn hat geschrieben:For desktop stuff they can use an alternative launcher such as Nova launcher which can backup/restore the users desktop (phone-top ..??) settings.
Don't actually know the answer to that one as I've used Nova for years, partly so that any phone I have looks/acts the same. Less learning time. I suspect that any backup/restore for the default launcher might well depend on which phone manufacturer you go with.fjsfan hat geschrieben:So, the default android launcher does not place the desktop layout in some location accessible to other applications?
