'Unable to identify phone' error

My wife has been using MPE for a couple of years to connect to her Samsung J5 phone. Today she tried to connect and got an error message saying 'Unable to identify phone Jenny J5 - would you like to connect to Samsung SM130-J5 instead'. If I say Yes it still fails.

My first thought was that there had been an Android update that had defaulted the name of the phone, so I re-entered the name. It didn't help.

The MPE log shows that there was a Wifi connection made but it failed to identify the phone.

I tried to add a new user (Jenny's PC) - scanned the QR code and then I got the 'can't identify phone' message again.

I tried to add a new user from my PC (which is connecting to my phone perfectly) and got the same error.

The android app is up to date.

What am I missing?

Please check in mobile phone => MyPhoneExplorer-Client => Appinfo = >Permissions
Among other things, telephone should be activated here!
