I've recently found that all the SMS Archieve on PC in MPE is pretty epmty (though it used to be a nearly thousand of messages). Does MPE provide for any automated background backup for the messages in archieve? Are there any possible ways to recover the archieve?
I've examined the files related to MPE in Users folder (on Vista) and found one with the promising name - "SMS_backup.dat". What is this file for? The file size is about 240 KB, which looks like many SMS messages...
Abstracting away from the above: FJ, your MPE rocks! Keep up with the good work!
I'm not sure of the exact reason for this and can't reproduce it. The messages dissappered about three days ago. I have two guesses: either while updating to 1.6.6 or on a crash.
Talking about the crash, which are sometimes happening under Vista:
MPE hangs up when you are trying to connect the phone (the baloon "Windows can't recognize the USB device" appear is displayed as well). This happens occasionally and when you got it, you can neither close MPE, nor use Task Manager or Shut down Windows. This is bad, because MPE looses all the data you entered in it.
For example, I spent some time on inputing dates for sent messages and when I connected my phone, the application hanged up and I had to reset my computer. Then I've opened MPE and all dates where gone...
I saw your thing with vista also on my machine yesterday (the first time ever) i'll try to reproduce it and find a fix. I think the driver blocks MyPhoneExplorer cause there is no way to terminate myphoneexplorer.exe.
