Delete user

Hi all,

Recently I've added a phone in MPE (1.6.7) just to make a temporarily backup. Now this phone is no longer needed in my MPE but when I'm not able delete it. The program asks for confirmation. When I confirm with "OK", the program shuts down. After restarting the program, the added phone is still there. Am I doing something wrong or is this a little mistake in the program.

Regards,
Augenia

It looks like a mistake in the program. There would be a possibility to delete the user manually, but i would prefer to fix the bug. So please download the current beta and post the logfile after the crash (usually located in %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt )

Hi FJ,

I have installed the "beta". Below is the logfile (I did not notice a difference in both logs (before and after installing the beta))

In order to test future improvements, I will not delete the user manually

Best regards and thanks for your swift reply.

Are we talking from the same action ? I added logmessages for the click menu-File-User-current user-Delete , but the are missing in the logfile.
Are you sure that the update for the beta worked ?

It says after installing: Built time: 03.05.2008 - 11:16 Then I started the program again. I think there will nothing logged because the program quits earlier.

But you told me that MPE asks before: "Do you really want to delete the user blablabla"
Is that right ?

That's correct. It is in a messagebox and it says, freely translated: Are you sure to delete the user: <username>? With buttons "OK" and "Cancel". Pressing "Cancel" returns to the program as expected. Pressing "OK" will shutdown the program. The MPE-icon remains visible in the systemtray until a "mouse-over"-action. Therefor I assume there's not time to log anything anymore.

Very strange, directly after the messagebox there is a logentry - before any code is executed.

Hi FJ,

I opened the logfile without starting the program and these lines are showed in the log after trying to delete the user:

20:41:21.93 Delete user: Sony Ericsson K610 [IMEINR]
20:41:21.93 Keys loaded
20:41:21.93 Users: 1
20:41:21.93 Userkey removed

However the user is still available in the program after restarting it.
Does this info help you to solve this problem?

Best regards

Augenia

Hi FJ,

You sure corrected this error. Thank you. Curious as I am, what caused this problem?

Best regards,
Augenia

I rewrote some things for security in the last update. Besides other changes MyPhoneExplorer removes now also the UserID and password if you delete a profile. I tested it before but on my PC there are more profiles in MPE, so the bug didn't appear. If there is only one registred profile and you delete this one then the crash happened.

Very thanks for your help
