Hi all,
I am impressed of the new w980 and however it is not available yet, I consider buying it when it is available. I am wondering whether it works with MPE. I've read that some SE-mobiles have a symbian OS. Has the new w980 a symbian OS as well?

I take a short lookaround. I don't think that it has Symbian and i can say that it should work with MPE to 99% . You will get 100% when somebody has tested it.

99% is near to perfection. Thank you

Hello,
I searched in the forum to know if MPE would work with the W980 and I found these posts.
I my case, I can see the directory for the photo on the phone (no memory card). But I can't see any data with "memory status".
Regards
Jeff

Sorry, in my mind, it has, because it concerned the fact MPE works or not with this phone.

The problem is very simple. For the different item (phone memory, contacts (phone / sim), Events and tasks, sms (phone / sim), the different sub items - used, free, total, remain empty... no value... nothing.

Thank you for the log. There is a bug in MPE which will be fixed in the next update (the big phone-memory raised an overflow in MPE)

Thank you very much for the quick answer
I guessed it could be something around the large memory. 8 Gb is a lot !

Hi!
I have some problems with W980 also...
- same error with "memory status" (but i see it will be fixed)
all the other problems is in backup section:
- can't check backup the "profiles"...
- don't know why but even after the MPE 171 saved all the files from the W980 the restore backup restored only the SMSs and contacts (even didn't restored themes)... and all the files i restore manually...
- don't know if it's error or not but contacts being restored without "voice command"... and i had about ~100 of them...

2) Since the K750 its no more possible to access profiles
3) Diffrent phones can have diffrent folderstructures, besides this a diffrent phone can maybe have not enought memory. Cause of this two reasons its better to restore files manually. Which is basicly no problem cause MPE supports full Drag&Drop - also for complete folders
4) The phone has no interface to access the "Voice record", also not to the assigned ringtone so its not possible to save/restore this

3) it was the same phone, i just toke it to fix so everything in side was deleted...
and i have ~4gb/~200folders and it's a bit problem to add all this manually back because every video/audio/others/photos need to moved separately to different folder and wait couple hours...
and it would be much easier if it be can be done with 1 click of restore of backup...
4) is there any way to to save contact's "voice command"? (even if it's not with MPE)
is it possible to add applications & games in backup?
10Q for quick answering!

3) YOU had the same model, but not all users restore the backup on a same model. Why every folder ? Open the Filebrowser in MPE so that you see "PhoneMemory" and "MemoryStick" in the list. Then take the "PhoneMemory" from your PC and Drag it to the white space of the List. Neve´r heard of Drag&Drop ? Its one single action.
4) If there would be a possibility then you would found it in MPE. AFAIK there is no software which can read/write this information.
5) Games and Apps are read-protected, no way

sorry so many questions... this is the last one just found out when played the music that all the files that wasn't with english names (was with russian/ukraine/hebrew/italian letters) converted to very long numbered names...
i don't know if it was because MPE or because windows don't set defaulted to this language unicode...
Verfasst: Mi 18. Feb 2009, 13:09
von FJ
Its a common issue cause MPE is not fully unicode compatible. if you have f.e. russian files and you have set the russian system-charset then it will display also russian chars.
