Hi everybody,
I wish to synchronize my gmail contacts with my phone.
The goal is to complete contacts Gmail with their phone number.
To delete no contact in my phone, I forced the sync from phone to Gmail.
However, if the same contact exists in Gmail and in my phone, no solution allow to me from synchronize both. The contact is ignored. I would like to juste add the number in Gmail but it is not possible.
If this solution is not possible, I would like to add the contact in Gmail (it generates an other contact in Gmail with the same name) and I will synchronize the contacts directly in Gmail (Gmail has an function to do it).
But, and unfortunately, it's not possible to force this synchronization...
If you have a solution, thank you to help me.
Julien

can someone please explain (or link me) to step by step instructions? i can't figure how to do this.
i have a number of contacts that have exactly the same name in gmail and my k800 - gmail version obviously contains email address, phonebook - phone number. how can i put them together?
when i force phone -> gmail sync the gmail contact is replaced and i loose the email address. i can live with manually merging them in gmail - but how can i get them both into gmail?

okay, i managed. in case someone needs it in future:
export whole phonebook using MPE to CSV. import with excel (use "," as delimiter). remove unnecessary columns, add necessary ones using guide here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/g ... 992f&hl=en
these should be primarilly "Section 1 - Description" populated with "Personal" for each contact to be read by gmail, edit also the name of column containing phone numbers. depending on language settings the name of contact might or might not be split into FirstName and LastName columns.
then export from excel into csv, edit with notepad and batch-replace all ";" with ",", import into gmail.
voila.
