Hash key (# key) in 'Phone keypad' window during call

Beitrag von Erolf »

How can I use the hash key (pound key): # in the 'Phone keypad' window during a call? I have read the keyboard shortcut list on this forum but it doesn't mention this use case and pressing 'Shift + 3' does not work, it only produces the number 3 on the phone.

On the numeric keypad there is the following allocation:
/: No usage
*: Star key
-: Decrease volume
+: Increase volume
Enter: Confirm, Send DMTF, Menu etc
,: No usage

Why not use / as the pound key in the 'Phone keypad' view?

Whats the sense of this key during a call ?
You can silence with this key a incoming call - this is already possible in the call-manager

I frequently use DTMF services and I often need to confirm the input by the Hash key (# key). For example phone banking, conference call services or when calling switchboards.

The 'Phone keypad' window is very efficient during a call, which enables me to enter numbers and codes using the numeric keypad of my PC keyboard, but when I have to confirm the input with # I have to use the mouse instead which is annoying. Since there is space in the key allocation on the numeric keypad, for instance by using / or , to input # it would be a nice feature.

There is already a "Send tone" feature in the call-window, the phone-keypad is not needed. But the # key is missing there, i'll add the * and # button in this window

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I was hoping for this functionality in version 1.8 but discovered it was not there.

The 'Call monitor'-window is not usable for me when sending DTMF tones since the digits do not pop up on the display of the phone and I cannot therefore see if the code was entered correctly. (The codes are often wrongly received by the phone if one is fast on the keyboard)

Also, #-key is mapped in this window (Shift-3) but not on the numeric keypad so it is not really usable.

In the 'Phone keypad'-window it would be very usable to have #-functionality mapped to preferably the /-key on the numeric keyboard. Alternatively, it could be mapped to the ,-key of the numeric keyboard if that is seen as a better option.

Is this not possible to implement?

Best regards,

There is already a DTMF-Pad in the call monitor so it does not make sense to add another one which emulates keystrokes.

Key pad in "Send tone" greyed out

Beitrag von gerto@telia.com »

Hi,

When dialing through MyPhoneExplorer I'm trying to use the keypad in the call monitor/send tone box but all the keys are greyed out and not usable.

I would like to use it to send numbers to login to online conferences once MyPhoneExplorer has performed the dialling (works like a charm).

I'm using MyPhoneExplore 1.8 with an Anroid 2.1 (ZTE Blade) phone connected via USB.

BR,
/Gert.

Will this feature be activated for Android? I am in very great need to be able to send DTMF tones during ongoing call!

Otherwise, the program is fantastic! :D

Is that the same type of problem, when to use, for example "," in a stored number in the programs phonebook? The character "," is used to store a "pause" in a number, when using a SE Xperia 10 Pro.
As it is now, the non-numeric character is erased when saving. Problems arise when it works to use non-numeric characters in the phone, when storing numbers in the phonebook. But when it syncs with the program, for example "," will be deleted.
Would it be possible to save some alphanumeric characters in the programs phonebook : , * # ?
