I had big trouble after installing Windows 10 1809. Syncing either stuck or produced invalid calendar entries (end before start of event).
I was saved by installing MPE 1.8.11 BETA (also called nightly 1/3/2019)

About the format of the backup
It would be much safer if the backup file would be a simple text file, eg CSV, XML, or plain text, so that anoyne could review it and get info in/out of it using a text editor.
I am having in mind PIM Backup an extremely handy utility from the Windows Mobile 6.x which operated like this.
