MPE not working in miui device

MPE is not connecting to xiaomi redmi 1s android device with miui os 7.0.5.0. Adb drivers are installed, I see this device in listed adb devices. USB debugging is enabled, can access this phone on PC and transfer files like any other device. MPE client latest version from google play is installed. This device doesn't have a charge only option. tried both MTP & connect as camera options but no luck. And finally, this is not a PC or USB cable issue. Tried another non branded jelly bean device and it worked perfectly. and on client it is showing USB connection. one final note, i don't want MPE via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I tried this software because it supports USB.
