Have been using MPE for countless years. I really don't want to sync ALL appointments from 10 years ago until now each time I sync.
Is there a setting so I can just sync appointments in the past 12 months until 12 months in the future? something like that - rather than sync everything?
related question: is there an easy way to just delete all appointments older than 2 years, for example?
I'm using MPE 2.0, and I only sync calendar with MPE - not with windows or thunderbird etc. |

Don't see what the problem is with sync'ing all appointments to a modern phone. Plenty of memory as long as you don't attach huge image files for example.
But .... MPE (on the PC) -> Settings > Sync > Events & Tasks - Advanced > Time period ..... |

@bugman
The function mentioned by dvhttn is offered to you if you activate MPE => F2 => Sync with: Internal Sync-Database. |

AHA ! Thank you both for your help!
many years ago I could use that option and pick how long in the past, how long in the future to sync. But now it is not visible unless I choose the "internal Sync-Database" for sync.
The reason I'm interested, is because I'm syncing my calendar at work on that computer, then sync it at home also - and when I do, it can take several minutes to go through about 15 years of appointments all piled up (and I don't care about anything more than 1 year ago for sure).
Can you educate me - what does syncing with internal sync database do? I f I use that option will it do what I need - so keep home and office computers in sync? Does that remove old appts on the phone and computers permanently?
Thanks for your help |

The internal sync database for appointments only stores these additional
This was actually intended as an alternative for users who can notl use Outlook or Thunderbird but want to keep multiple Android devices in sync.
It is possible to activate 3 different sync databases
1. Contacts
2. Dates
3. Notes

No, it doesn't do that! |

Hmmm - I set calendar to sync only appointments 1 yr in the past, and all future appointments:
But when I tried to do the sync, it says 3293 entries will be created,
in the Sync-Database, and When I look at the events included, this is
including appointments as far back as 2009!, way past my
intention of 1 year.
I only want them to go 1 year in the past. That would probably be < 100
entries total.
what am I doing wrong? |

With this function, only the appointments in the cell phone + MPE are excluded, but not in the internal sync database!
During the 2nd sync, the relevant appointments in the cell phone / MPE should be deleted
Series appointments are excluded from this promotion! |

thanks so much for all your help!
I really appreciate your knowledge and patience
I think I found the database - it's on my computer, in case anyone else needs this info:
https://fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35262
The path is in MPE application Settings menu
File, Settings,"Enhanced 2".
And yes, icke1954, just as you said,
on the first sync, it backed up all 3200 appointments to the internal database
on the 2nd sync, it deleted about 3000 of them from phone - this should make things run a little faster when I sync at work. |
