Hi
I have just finished the contactsync with Google, so please test it. You can get the current beta here: http://www.fjsoft.at/files/MyPhoneExplorer_DebugUpdate.exe
It was a littlebit tricky to realize the sync cause Google has no fixed addressformat and its also to find out how the phone-numbers are labeled so this things could make problems.
Please note that i need the results as soon as possible.
Very thanks for Testing |

Hi I've just tested the update and I can see that it works,
however I could only get the program to update the contact's address info, after I've changed the phone number of that contact.
The numbers get sorted like this:
(Picture) David Beckham (MPE=contact's name)
davidbeckham@gmail.com (MPE=primary email address)
Home
E-mail: secundary_email@gmail.nl(MPE=secundary email)
Mobile: 06### ( MPE=Cell)
Fax: ######## (MPE=fax)
Mobile: ####### (MPE=home)
Mobile: 06######(MPE=other)
Address:[Bucking Ham Palace 32
1000aa London
County
United Kindom](MPE=Address)
Work
Mobile: 063333333(MPE=work phone) |

Before:
Aaaa Beckham
david1@gmail.com
david2@gmail.com
david3@gmail.com
0611 Home / Mobile
0644 Home / Fax
0622 Home
0655 Home
0633 work
Backalley 00
0000aa London
London
United Kingdom
When changing address in MPE to "Backalley 12", syncing with MPE and refreshing Google's Contact Page to check it:
After:
Aaaa Beckham
david1@gmail.com
david2@gmail.com
david3@gmail.com
0611 Home / Mobile
0644 Home / Fax
0622 Home
0655 Home
0633 work
Backalley 00
0000aa London
London
United Kingdom
But after that I tried logging out of gmail (with my browser) and clearing the browsercache, after that I logged in again and I saw that it did get through correctly:
Aaaa Beckham
david1@gmail.com
david2@gmail.com
david3@gmail.com
0611 Home / Mobile
0644 Home / Fax
0622 Home
0655 Home
0633 work
Backalley 12
0000aa London

Hi.
If I add a contact to phone and sync, it is created to gmail contact.
But if I sync again, MPE ask to delete it.
If I add a contact to gmail contact and sync, it is NOT created to phone.
I think MPE write something to gmail contact succesfully, but it fails to read contacts from gmail contact. |

First, when I synced many contacts were not synced, but when I first made them compatible (by deleting all contacts in gmail and syncing it phone -->gmail), everything was working.
One big thing: You always have to go back to the inbox, or to the contacts startpage in gmail before syncing!
Now I'm testing further. |

I found the reason.
I have some non-english(korean) entries in gmail contacts. Once I delete them. Sync is working.
This may not be an important issue for most of users. But, can you fix this problem?
Thank! |

For example,
If I add
테스트 / 1234567
to gmail contacts and I try to sync, MPE ask me delete existing contacts on the phone.
This might be a character set problem.
Thanks, |

I tested al way. Sometimes some contacts won't sync, but gmail has to refresh sometime. When before syncing I went back to the inbox, there where no problems.
Great Feature |

There is one problem with UK formatted addresses.
It arises as the gmail address field is free format. It isn't unusual to end a UK address with the postcode rather than including a country, i.e.,
44 The Street
The Town
The County
PO5 0DE
When the google contact creates a new myphonexplorer entry the postcode (here PO5 0DE) ends up in the country field, the postcode field being blank.
With a properly formatted UK address in myphonexplorer, where the postcode PO50DE is entered into the postcode field, syncing the record to gmail results in
44 The Street
PO5 0DE The Town
The County
which is not UK formatted.
You may not be addressing different country's address formats at this stage of the beta, but I thought I would mention it anyway. |

I know that GB has an extra format for addresses - but how to determinate which format should be used ?`In Google i get only one full string, MPE has to split it up itself. |

I am behind a firewall, but everything else worked OK in previous version. Now when syncing contacts I get a "Failed: 200 OK" error message. |

Perhaps this could be a user option? The user could tick a box to make MPE use the UK address format. Obviously it wouldn't be perfect as some users will have addresses from more than one country in their address book, but it would be a good temporary measure until the Google address book improves. |
