Can MPE be used on SE phones running on Windows Mobile or Symbian?
- If yes, witch versions?
- If yes, can it be used with non-SE phones running WM or Symbian?
SE recently introduced it's first Windows Mobile phone: XPERIA X1.
SE also has models running on Symbian: P1, G900, W960, G700, W950...
How does MPE work with SE with Symbian or WM? Any limitations? If it does well with both, then it can be used on non-SE phones as well?
I have an old K750 and have to go 3,5G, and I might switch to HTC (WM) or Nokia (Symbian) or one of the SE above -- would I still be able to use MPE as before?
I really like MPE and use it for years, and wanna keep on using it!
Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia!

MPE is designed to work with SE phones not other brands.
There is no plan to implement for Xperia.
It works with almost all java based and Symbian os of SE phones.
If you are insist to use MPE and want to buy Symbian os mobiles, just go for one of those you mentioned.

Is this official? Since it's more important which OS/platform is supported, rather than brand itself, isn't it?
Therefore, if I go for Nokia E71 Symbian, would I still be able to use MPE? |

That's really I bad news. I'd like to stay with SE, but they have no products for:
Query on GSMarena.com:
SE
+ 3,5G HSDPA 2100
+ WiFi
+ GPS
+ smartphone
= results: X1
If i replace SE with Nokia I get bunch of models, like E71, E66, N78, based on Symbian OS, well priced but -- not compatible with MPE, as you claim. |

The SE G705 is not a smart phone, but it has WiFi b/g, A-GPS, HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps, Geo-Tagging, Youtube....
And the price is reasonable. |

Thanks, Khosrow. Are there any other models you can suggest that would meet my criteria? G705 is not available in Serbia yet.
Thanks! |

Then what about C905?
Its a little bit expensive, but it has lots of options and features including A-GPS with Wayfinder Navigator 7, WiFi, Video QVGA@30fps and so on.
Maybe it worth to wait for W705, because its functionality is very similar to your K750 and the rate of features/price is considerable. Also You can enjoy MPE like before!
Anyway if your first priority is GPS, think about minimum 3" display and Windows M. os, because most of the professional GPS softwares can use on PPC. |

My dear folks, unwillingly, I have to switch to Nokia E71 and leave MPE .
Is there any Nokia SW like MPE that you would recommend?
Most important for me is sync:
Cell phone: Contacts and Calendar
Outlook 07: Contacts and Calendar
Google: Gmail Contacts and Calendar
MPE synced all of it!
I sync emails using IMAP between Gmail - Outlook - cell phone.
What should I do now?
Please, please help me, since I know Nokia Suite can not provide it for me.
Truly yours,
Ivan |
