My phone can not be detected by MyPhoneExplorer. When connecting with USB I get an error message "Connection to phone could not be established: No device attached to USB".
DroidX w/Android 2.2
WinXP Pro Version 2002 SP3
Connected via USB which charges ok
Similar message when attempting to connect over WiFi (Failed to obtain the IP-address of the phone)
Log file is below for USB Connection attempt.
DroidX shows 4 options for USB connection: PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, USB Mass Storage, and Charge Only. I have tried to connect with all 4 settings.
If it helps, files transfer and work (I transferred and played a song) when in USB Mass Storage mode but Windows Media Sync is not yet working.
PC Version 1.8.0 is installed. A Client version was also installed straight from the marketplace and connections fail whether it is running or not. My phone will not connect to my wife's laptop either even though I got her DroidX on Android v2.1 to work so I am sure the issue is with my phone. Any thoughts?

OK, I figured it out. USB debugging was not turned on and I found a YouTube video showing how to do it. All is now synchronized.
The only question now is should I leave USB Debug turned on. The phone says it allows code to be downloaded without notice, which sounds unsafe.
Thank you. |

Its theoretically possible to do many things with your phone throught the cable. But i don't think the risk is high cause i never heard of 'bad programs' which are able to detect connected Android-Phones and do bad stuff with them |

Hi, I have the same problem as Gediminas. When I plug in the USB connection to my PC and Xperia x8, then ask MyPhoneExplorer 1.08 to connect: "no device attached to USB". The phone says it's attached and I can explore the files on my PC. I don't have a myphoneexplorer client installed on my xperia (no internet connection to my gsm). I even don't know how I can do this.
Could somebody help me out please?
thanks in advance. |

Things you MUST HAVE for a propper connection via USB:
- USB (ADB) driver installed on your PC (use Google to find the fitting driver for your brand)
- MyPhoneExplorerClient installed from market on your phone
(alternative you can download the current beta from www.fjsoft.at/mpeclient.apk direct from your phone's browser
- USB debugging mode enabled (menu > settings > applications > development > USB debugging)
Things you MUST HAVE for a propper connection via WLAN:
- MyPhoneExplorerClient installed from market on your phone
(alternative you can download the current beta from www.fjsoft.at/mpeclient.apk direct from your phone's browser
- Manually start MyPhoneExplorerClient on your phone
- Phone and PC should be on the same subnet / router.
Then start MyPhoneExplorer on your PC, go to File > Settings > Connection > Phone type "Phone with Google Android-OS".
When done, presse F1 or select File > Connect.
best regards... |

Is there any personal firewall on your work computer or are there some other restrictions/policies?
Please note:
MyPhoneExplorer uses TCP/IP for communication with your phone:
TCP outgoing over port 5210
UDP outgoing over port 5211
UDP incoming over port 5212

Will try that but I don´t think it will work because of below things that I noticed.
Did notice that when I try to run adb.exe devices I can see that there is no devices attached.
Have tried to reinstall the drivers but without no luck,
Seems to be something wrong with the drivers. |

- USB (ADB) driver installed on your PC (use Google to find the fitting driver for your brand)
I did that but it was not clear to me which drivers to install so I installed all of them, (over 1 GB). C:\AndroidSDK\android-sdk-windows
- MyPhoneExplorerClient installed from market on your phone
Done

OK

OK, the first site that Google found said that in order to install the driver I had to download the SDK. (I don't know what a SDK is. I am not a developer I just want to transfer the e-mail addresses from my Thunderbird address book to my Nexus).
Anyway, I did as I was told and finished up with nearly 1.5 GB of SDK but I still couldn't get a driver to install.
After messing about for ages I went back to Google and downloaded a driver from another site that enabled me to connect the Nexus to my PC.
Now when I open MyIPhoneExplorer I can see and copy the address book on the phone to the computer but I can't find any way to transfer the Thunderbird address book to the phone. |

For some devices the ADB-Drivers are provided by the SDK and for some models you have to search for seperate drivers. Its not my job to deliver the correct ADB-Drivers for each device. This would be a endless work
Zitat: | Now when I open MyIPhoneExplorer I can see and copy the address book on the phone to the computer but I can't find any way to transfer the Thunderbird address book to the phone. | Menu-File-Settings-Sync -> select Thunderbird here |
