Here is what I would like to have happen:
file.txt is on the device. I find it with the Files navigation.
Opening it with my text editor works great.
Edit the text.
Save the file, which goes deep in the heart of Users/AppData/Roaming... where you have cached the file.
What I want to happen now is for MyPhone Explorer to note the changed file and COPY it to the device, overwriting the existing file.
That doesn't happen.
Even if I navigate to the folder on the PC and drag the file to the device, I get a file(1).txt instead of overwriting. Same if I use upload - it doesn't ask about replacing or not, it just does the keep both files option.
Am I missing an option or way to do what I want easily?
My goal is editing with the PC and saving back to the device automatically, changing the existing file.
I wouldn't mind if there were an "are you sure?" dialog, but that is like training wheels on the bicycle, isn't it...

hopefully the PC editor in use is aware of the different line end encoding on Win and Linux (CRLF vs LF) ... |

A good point, and yes, Editpad handles this very well with lots of configuration options, too. |

I will not make a inbuild editor. I will make it the same way as known f.e. from FileZilla |
