No worries. So if on same pc, photos in same place on pc. And before my first MPE sync photos will be in same place on new phone. So if this is the case, just run the sic with photo backup enabled?
Thanks

I will moving to the new phone this weekend. The new phone DCIM folder will be identical to the PC destination. I guess the question is, will it try to duplicate all of those photos?

The pld phone will be synced on the same pc before moving to new phone,
Thanks

No, that shouldn't happen Wink

BJB hat Folgendes geschrieben:
- Do you enable the settings MPE => F2 => Advanced 2 => Sync only new photos
- If the photos are in the same place, all you have to do is take over the File Photosync.dat from the old PC, otherwise see FixPhotoSyncDat
Sorry, please forget that! It was a mistake from me Embarassed
1. Only users need this if their move the photos on the PC from the original folder to another location!
Then without these Photosync.dat, all photos would be copied again from the cell phone on the PC.
2. Only the method works then: FixPhotoSyncDat

icke1954.
I am getting back to this after a successful calendar and calendar sync!
So I am on new PC, with new phone, and trying to do my first photo sync.
The photo DCIM folder on the new phone has all the photos from the old phone (LOTS!) and a few new ones. The destination folder on the PC has all the previously copied photos via MPE from the old phone.

I tried a photo sync with "only new photos" checked and it started copying all of the photos. I exited out immediately and re-read your post.

Re-reading your post and the fixphotosync thread I think what I understand now is when I try this again, I need to insert a line in the [Main] section that says: FixPhotoSyncDate=20250727

This will only copy photos from 20250728 through the current date? Is that correct?

Do I check the "only new photos" box or not?

Does it matter that I started but aborted that last sync?

And after I sync the first time I can delete that line in general.ini , check "only new photos", and MPE will "know" to only sync things after the date of the last sync?

Do I have all that correct? Smile

Thanks,
BJB

Usually existing photos are no longer copied?!
There are 2 explanations for this:
1. Please check MPE => F2 => Folder for Photo-sync
2.The photos were changed by the transmission

Yes, that would be the solution to the problem !

The line is automatically deleted according to the sync!

Thanks. For both my sync with the FixPhotoSyncData line in there and the next one, do I check "Only sync new photos"?

The photos were copied via my old phone sync under that old phone profile.
So now on new phone, I am pointing to a folder with the exact same photos in it and I verified the folder path. But I don't think MPE "knows" it copied before as it is a new phone and sync? I remember this happening before.....

Sounds like adding that FixPhotoSyncData line forces it to just copy what I want, and then if for the the next sync it starts from there, that should work.

And from your post, after I sync with that line there, it will automatically delete that line but apparently will "know" not to sync those older ones again?

Thanks

@icke1954,
Sorry to bother you again. Going to try to do this in a day or two.

Am I correct that I want to:
- insert a line in the [Main] section that says: FixPhotoSyncDate=20250727
and this will only copy photos from 20250728 through the current date? Is that correct?

-Do I check the "only new photos" box or not for this one sync?

-After this sync that line in the .ini will be automatically deleted by MPE and I can go back to syncing normally.

Do I have that correct?
Thanks

Yes, this is correctly

Yes, this is correctly, this option must be enable in any case!

Yes, this is also correctly
