Hi I'm new to this forum. I've looked about but can't find anything about the specific problem I'm having.

I have a Sony Ericsson Experia LT18i, running Android version 2.3.4, build number 4.0.2.A.0.62. I am running MPE version 1.8.4. - At least, that's what it now declares after a partial install. It didn't advance overnight beyond 20% of the install, and I then cancelled the install process because it had stopped responding.

I use a USB cable to sync.

Then I installed Outlook 2000, which had been previously installed, but deleted. When I installed it, it found what must have been one of its old diaries that the uninstall didn't remove for some reason.

I set MPE up to synchronise both the outlook calendar and the phone, and set it running.

It promptly deleted loads of appointments from my phone, and I pulled the plug before it wiped the lot, and looked to see what was going on.

In the appointments bit of MPE, 80% of the appointments show with a red X in the top left corner, meaning that on synchronisation they will be removed from the phone.

So now I'm caught, and don't know. Lots of my appts are missing from the phone, and if I sync, most of the rest will go.

There are more appts on the MPE appointments screen than there are on the phone, but if I sync they will all go, I think.

Is there any way to get rid of the red Xs? Either by editing every appointment (there are over 240 of them), or en bloc?

I have removed Outlook completely now, and installed Thunderbird with a calendar. I would like to sync with that, but I don't know how - and I don't want to until this problem is corrected.

Would a system restore correct this data problem?

I would be grateful for any help you can give.

Thanks

- Choose rightclick->Import/Export->Export whole calendar (this is just a backup of the current data)
- then click on the second button in the toolbar ("Download entire"). myPhoneExplorer will overwrite the whole data with fresh data from the phone and no changes in the phone will be done
- set up the sync to Thunderbrid, set the daterange to "Sync all" and keep the Confirmation window enabled.
- then sync with Thundebird. If MyPhoneExplorer wants to delete entries of the phone then select "Force Phone->Thundebird" in the bottom right corner of the confirmation window.

Thanks so much. I never played with right-click in MPE before - why?

Now I have backed up the calendar, I would like one moment of reassurance before I do the final step.

When I click download entire, will any entries not on the phone be overwritten with blanks? There are quite a few birthdays (30 or so) that are on MPE and not marked for deletion that are not on my phone. It's only 30 mins or so to type them all in, so it's no big deal, but would they be lost?

thanks FJ

Correct, if there are unsynced changes in MyPhoneExplorer then maybe you should export them before hitting "Download entire"
