Hello, I have a HTC Desire with android 2.2. When I synchronise my contacts with MyPhoneExplorer (I suppose when I do a synchronization only between the phone and MyPhoneExplorer but I'm not sure) I lost the information in MyPhoneCard (the first entry on the contacts list). Worse, I'm not able to edit it (the first time the edit screen disappears immediately, and after a reboot it stays indefinitely). This is the second time that's happened : I just reinstall completely my phone after this bug, and I get this very annoying affect in trying to synchronize my contacts.............. This entry is used on each message sent to show the expeditor, so lost it is very frustrating. Any help ? Thank you ! |

If you did not edit your MyPhoneContact in MyPhoneExplorer then MyPhoneExplorer will not change it during sync -> in this case i dont think that MyPhoneExplorer has something to do with your problem |

I'm sure it did. I've lost all my week-end to reinstall my phone, precisely because of this problem. Once reinstalled I've put manually the data in MyPhoneCard (that works), and they have been lost a second time when I tried to restore my other contacts with MyPhoneExplorer. BTW, other people on other forums have the same problem.
In fact, the data are still there, but within a normal phone contact. I suspect that MyPhoneExplorer 'transforms' the special MyPhoneCard contact on a standard one. The MyPhoneCard contact remains in the list as the first one but there is no more data in the database for it, even empty ones, and I suppose this is the reason why it is no more possible to edit it.
This is annoying because it is used as the sender for all messages. |

OK, now i understand. You restored a existing backup with MyPhoneExplorer. A restore does delete all existing entries in phone and adds the ones from the backup, so the story makes sense. I will take a look at this problem |

OK, thank you very much. Extra info which I have read in other forums : it seems that somebody has have the same problem using a backup SW (I don't know which one) and, more interestingly, several people have it after updating from Android 2.1 to 2.2 (my phone is pretty new and I have 2.2). There is is perhaps a change in the manner on how Android handle MyPhoneCard in 2.2. |

The next version of the client will no more allow to delete the own card. This will raise one duplicate after restoring the backup but i dont think that this is problematic for the most users |

On my side no. Since I've fully reinstall my HTC on March and lost again MyPhoneCard two days later I'm living with that for the moment. |
