I'm using thunderbird and myphone explorer already more then a year but suddenly the syncronization of contacts does not work anymore. On the moment of synchronization the sytem "switches to thunderbird and give a message cannot read dat from Thunderbird. (Synchronization of calendar gives no problem.)
I have 1.7.6 and thinderbird: 4.1.4 |

You mean 3.1.4 or ?
- start Thunderbird before contact-sync
- do the sync until the error appears
- take a look at the error-console of thunderbird and post what you see there |

The Addon is not able to locate your addressbook. There must be a change, maybe caused throught Thunderbird-Update. Open the window Menu-File-Settings-Sync-Contacts(Thunderbird)-Advanced . Check which adressbook is selected for sync and click on OK (even if the right adressbook was shown). MyPhoneExplorer will update the adressbook-url and then it should work again. |

I'm using MyPhoneExplorer in a wine/Ubuntu environment. And set it up according to this guide
http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5835&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
I have the same problem as described here, but in my case MyPhoneExplorer is crashing if I about to reach the advanced settings.
I'm using 1.8.0 nightly 01.01.2011 15:41:14 as I need the new fixed IP setup. (Thanks for that.)

I'm syncing against an Android phone, so syncing to Google is already in place. I would like to sync it to thunderbird in this setup.
Nevertheless thanks for the suggestion.

yeah, thats the way I do it, and what I suggest you to do is:
thunderbird <-> google <-> android phone
first part using GContactSync
second part using Over the air google sync (default android settings!)
what you are trying to do is:
google <-> android phone <-> MPE <-> thunderbird
right? I think this is a bit more complicated and since GContactSync works without the android phone and MPE (but you need online connection of course!) I think this is more suitable!
Or did i missunderstand what you are trying to do! |

I basically want to use google for my contacts.
So I want this
Android <=> MPE <=> Thunderbird.
The first part is working fine now with the latest update (1.8.0 nightly 01.01.2011 15:41:14), but only with a USB cable. As my laptop and my android phone are not on the same (W)LAN, the fixed IP address feature set to 127.0.0.1 and setting a forward with adb from 5210 to 5210 is the solution at the moment. I would like to have a connection via bluetooth actually, to be a bit more free with the phone!
But the second part, the sync from MPE to TB is not working at all and also MPE is crashing while trying to run the extended configuration on MPE.

I had a typo in my last post.
Correct is: I do not want to use google to sync my contacts to!

This will be possible for some phones in the future. But I cant tell you exactly when and what phones!

If you dont want to use google to sync, then lets focus on making this happen! Please post debug log, so we can see into this. Maybe there is a problem using the addon in wine! |

The debug log is already in but there are only two lines with the error. |

I think there might be something wrong with loading of the add on or the connection to thunderbird. This might be seen in the beginning of the debug log. Please send the whole debug log to FJ! |
