Hi!
I'm using phone-explorer to sync my Lotus notes business calendar to my android phone. It syncs via Gmail calendar, therefore transmitting all appointments/meetings to online account. Is there an offline alternative? I don't prefer to 'publish' them online.
So, if you guys now a way to sync with offline calendar, please let me know.. |

I am in the same boat. I used this software for the first time today to sync my Outlook business calendar and it dumped 3 months worth of appointments on Gcal. I am pretty sure that this is a fireable offense if I leave the stuff there, rather than clean things manually I just deleted my Gcal and lost all personal appointments in the process... bummer.
One way to work around the problem is to shut off sync for your Gcal:
Menu/Settings/Accounts and sync/Google accounts/uncheck box next to "Sync calendar". Needless to say this has the undesirable effect of not syncing Gcal, but I would rather keep my job :-)
The "obvious" solution is to create a separate calendar and then use the MPE client software on Android to specific which account to sync to. I have been trying to figure out how to do that all day today, no luck. It must be possible because this is how HTC Sync works on Sense. However, I have switched to CM7 and need an alternative. |

Scratch that, turning off calendar sync in the Accounts & Sync menu does NOT prevent your calendar from ending up on the cloud if its properties are set to "synced". This seems to be a limitation of the stock Android. Sigh, I have dumped CM7 and went back to FR008 for the sole purpose of being able to sync desktop outlook through HTC Sync without all my stuff ending up on Google's servers. |
