Refreshing when receiving new sms (no Handcent or GoSMS )

When i a receive a new sms on my phone it doesn't appear on MPE. I have to download all my coversations again to finally get one sms.
In the forum i saw that many others had the problem, but in there case it was because of other apps such as Handcent or GoSMS. Unfortunately i don't have any of these apps.
I am using HTC wildfire s on MIUI2.8.10 (Android 4.0.4).

Hi Gotgot. Handcent and GoSMS have a feature to disable the native sms app of your phone. I did not encounter any problems when using Handcent but now that I am using GoSMS, I have to uncheck that feature in GoSMS. Because of that, I will be receiving double sms notifications in my status bar. To solve this, I have to disable the notification setting of my native sms app. Hope this helps.

Edit: Oh, I see you don't have Handcent or GoSMS. But maybe you can find something in the notification setting of your native sms app.
