Syncing ALWAYS finds changes - even when there are none.

Every time I sync my Outlook 2010 calendar with my HTC Desire, myPhoneExplorer always prompts me to confirm some changes even when no changes have been made to either Outlook or Desire calendar.

I have hundreds of calendar appointments but it only prompts me to confirm three each time I sync. One appointment always defaults to "Use entry from phone" while the other two alternate with each sync between "Use entry from phone" and "Use entry from Outlook".

I don't see any way to upload screen shots to this forum so I've posted them here. These appeared when I did a sync four times in a row without changing anything in any calendar.

I had a somewhat similar problem. Turns out one item could not be fixed and the others disappeared .... Cool

Might be the same sort of issue ....

You can change the sync-direction for these items in hope that they become equal if they are changed on "the other side". If this does not help then please post the logfile after you selected "Use Entry from Outlook" on some items

Here's what I just did:
- Synced and selected the default for all entries which happened to be "Use entry from phone"
- Used "Force Outlook -> Phone" on the next sync when the entries appeared - although it's now down to 2 from 3 that I am prompted for!
- Deleted log file
- Synced again and selected "Force Outlook -> Phone" (default was "Use entry from phone") for the two entries
- Below is the log file result.

I just upgraded to 1.8.2 but am still getting the same problem. It's now prompting me for four events every time - even when doing multiple syncs in succession.

Either:
1. It's finding differences where there are none OR
2. It's not making the necessary changes when it should and so finds the same differences again on the next sync

Any way to debug this?

I did take a look at the PreSales meeting. It seems thare are rule-exceptions saved on the phone which cannot be deleted by MyPhoneExplorer. They start on the 1.1.1975 which is clearly a corrupt date i think.

Delete the two problematic events in phone and then try again (ensure that you force Outlook->Phone to prevent that the event gets deleted on sync also in Outlook)

I just saw your response.

I deleted all four "problem" events from my phone (I got a new phone and the problem came back anew) and re-synced, forcing Outlook to Phone but got the same problem.

I took a look at the events in Outlook and noticed that the ones that are causing the problem are the weekly and monthly recurring events that have no end date. The Yearly recurring events with no end date are not a problem.

I changed the end date for all of these problem appointments to 31/12/2012 and re-synced (forcing Outlook to Phone). I then re-synced but I was prompted for the events again.

I then changed the end date to 31/12/2011 and re-synced - same result after second sync.

I deleted the problem appointments from my phone and re-synced. It added the appointments to my phone calendar. Re-synced and.... nothing. It worked!

I changed the end date back to 31/12/2012 and re-synced. Second sync: Nothing again. Still working.

Just to test, I changed one Weekly and one Monthly appointment back to having no end date, synced and... got nothing. No prompt to update the phone with the new "No end date" for the two I'd changed. So I'm not sure if these two appointments in my phone have an end of 31/12/2012 or no end date.

It looks like MPE has problems with Weekly and Monthly appointments with no end date.

Similar problem.After working perfectly for weeks, this happened for the first time on 1/8/12: Sync organizer started, all entries to be confirmed said "delete from phone". I could only think to do that, (then force outlook to phone) and everything *except* my recurring appointments were deleted. All recurring appts. have no end date.
Settings: default:use Outlook. Sync: both ways (newest event)
I am uninstalling and reinstalling program from both phone and PC

I'm getting similar issue, I am only using a one way sync from outlook and don't change these events. If I do two syncs close together the second generally doesn't find differences. If I do another some time later (next day say) then it will find changes where none have been made.

The confirmation dialog shows no differences, would it be possible to add information which says what the difference is? or perhaps xxx on one of these shows a log for that entry only?

Post the logfile after sync and write down the title of the wrongy synced appointment

I tried to sync the calendar for only the third time I think, and it is prompting to overwrite from phone to Outlook for several entries, when there appears to be no change. Does the yellow circle with a slash indicate "overwrite?" These seems to be recurring entries. This is after entering enough days to go back to 2008 and forward through Dec. 2012. Also, when I put in a smaller date range (3 days and 3 days) - the program seems to have ignored those parameters. For example, it puts in the recurring birthdays which were entered in 2008 (Outlook) (even though they are already in the phone, and there has been no change.) It defaults to the phone entry.
I noticed it trying to force acceptance of a phone entry for a contact as well - for which there had been no change.
??
If I upgrade to the recent version, do I have to uninstall first? Computer and phone? Or will it just overwrite what is already there?

Please help me understand. This is way more difficult that the one-punch sync on my Treo. Miss ya, Treo!
