Hello,
I updated my HTC Desire HD this weekend with OTA HTC Sense 3.0 & Android 2.3.5.
When I try to connect it to MPE it doesn't recognize the established user and ask for a new user: HTC Desire HD A9191 [IMEI nr.].
I can't sync with the user I've established in MPE! Only with a new one! The IMEI remains (obviously) the same, so why does it required a new user to be setup?
Help please...
Thanks in advance...

I had the same problem - though I'd rooted my Desire HD and have a 3rd part ROM that offers 2.3.5 and Sense 3. I just assumed it was something in the ROM settings and made a new user. Didn't have any other problems. |

Not my case. It's the official version.

Did also the update to 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0, but with my Incredible S.
No problems as you described.

Performed the update on an (having official software) DHD yesterday.. Also I'm requested to create a new user.
(Sync) settings are configured on a per user basis. Is there a way to 'rename' the old user to the new user? So the DHD after upgrade will be identified with all previous settings (and probably sync pointers)? |

Workaround to keep al settings:
* shut down MyPhoneExplorer (MPE)
* look where the data files are stored
* there you find folders HTC Desire HD [xxx] and HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxx]. I don't know if A9191 is a generic nr or is changing for everyone.
* rename, delete or move the new user (HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxxx])
* rename HTC Desire HD [xxx] to HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxxx]
* start MPE
You should be happy now ... |

Thanks. It's a workaround but nonetheless the initial error shouldn't occur and should be resolved.
I copied all the files from the old directory over to the new one (with the A9191 mention), opened MPE and updated/syced all. And it appears to be all working now.
