Unable to connect to MyPhoneExplorer - Updated HTC Desire HD

Hi Guys

I have just updated HTC Desire HD to Android version 2.3.5 and I am unable to connect to My Phone Explorer anymore. Its requesting to add a new user, while I can see the previous user still exists under File ----> User.

Each time I press F1 to connect or click File ----> Connect, it prompts to create New User

Before the update everything was working fine. I prefer not to create a new user and use the already existing user settings for syncing.

I use USB syncing.

Could anyone please assist in resolving this issue.

This has been mentioned before, please 'search'. Can't remember what others did but I just created a new user and set it up with the same settings as the previous one. No other problems.

I have tried searching but can't seem to find anything related. I have large archived data of phone calls, contacts, & SMS messages that I would like to keep hence the reason to keep the existing user.

I would appreciate if you could even assist me transferring all that data to the new user, I am happy to do that.

MPE Rocks - I have been very happy with it. Thanks to the Developers and FJ Software for creating such a beautiful, easy to use syncing program. Its a KICK A...SE application

My Suggestion: It will be nice to see if the developers could develop to support the jpeg, bmp, gif files to be synced from Outlook notes field to Android phones notes field. I store lot of thumbnails in notes in Outlook contacts along with the text but thumbnails do not sync with Android phone.

Workaround to keep al settings:
* shut down MyPhoneExplorer (MPE)
* look where the data files are stored
* there you find folders HTC Desire HD [xxx] and HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxx]. I don't know if A9191 is a generic nr or is changing for everyone.
* rename, delete or move the new user (HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxxx])
* rename HTC Desire HD [xxx] to HTC Desire HD A9191 [xxxx]
* start MPE

You should be happy now ...

Just looked back at this thread ..... glad you sorted it! I think the 'new user' issue came up after the 2.3.5 upgrade, though mine came about by installing a custom rom rather than the HTC upgrade.
