HTC Desire with MPE 1.8.2 connected via USB to PC
I've just updated to latest version and have a couple of observations.
Firstly, the previous version I found used to crash regularly, but the latest version seems much better in that regard but I've now noticed my phone is getting very hot around the CPU area and my battery life is affected. This is something new and may be conicidence, but seems to have started around the same time as my update.
I did an experiment today by plugging my phone into the USB without starting MPE and phone charged fine without getting hot. I've now re-started MPE and in the space of about 30 mins it's already getting pretty warm. Is there anything in the new version that might keep the CPU running?
A seperate issue I get is a frequent CMS error on sending SMS. On previous and latest version, but SMS still gets sent but doesn't show in sent items.
Not major issues, but thought I'd post in case it was useful or relevent to anyone else. |

Update
I no longer think it is CPU activity as such.
I've just noticed that whenever I have any activity through MPE either sending or receiving, the phone screen does not fully close. To clarify, I have my phone settings set so that my screen display will switch off after 1 min max, which works fine when phone is not connected to anything. I have the USB debugging settings set with keep awake UNCHECKED but whenever there is any activity through MPE, the phone screen dims significantly, such that it is hard to notice it hasn't switched off completely and very, very feint, but IS still 'awake' and obviously the CPU will be running the on screen widgets etc.
Anyone else experienced this? |

MyPhoneExplorer does hold a Wakelock to hold the CPU active as long as MyPhoneExplorer is connected. This was also in all earlier versions. The new thing is that MyPhoneExplorer Client will turn on the phone screen during sync. This is needed cause some phones, especially from HTC does close the connection when the screen is off for a longer time (even if the WakeLock is set). And during sync this can cause many problems. |

OK, thanks for the update FJ
I know what you mean with the client not syncing after a certain time. It's a bit of a no win situation, if the phone sleeps sync is lost, if the phone stays awake, the CPU gets very hot and the low volt usb charge from pc struggles to keep up with the CPU battery usage.
