Sorry it took so long to get back. Started a new job this week! Had no time. I emailed the debug file to you. Thanks |

I took some pictures so I could have them in the phone and do the test. MPE crashes whether I do a left click or right click on the image file. I wanted to do a right click and choose delete. If I highlight the right pane, do CTRL-A to select all files, then right click on a group of files, MPE does not crash, and I get an explorer menu. From the menu I can delete. |

Hy david
I think i have found the bug. The Shellcommands for the Kontext-menu made problems. Please download again the debug-version (same link as before) and send me the logfile again. |

Tried the latest debug version and it still crashes when I click on an image file. Behavior was a little different though. Now when it crashes, MPE disappears, then the GPF message appears. Before, MPE would stay visible. Not much difference, but I could tell you changed something.
What I don't understand is why any imaging function is happening at all, if I only click on the file. Just xxx on, or highlighting the file, should simply retrieve characteristics of the file such as size. Image functionality would happen when the file is opened and not simply highlighted. But you may be opening the file and fetching resolution info, though you are not displaying the image. I have some suggestions on fetching resolution and other image info without using a DLL, if you are interested, but you are obviously a very good programmer and don't need any suggestions. I am curious why it fails on my system and not other systems. |

Strange - i was really sure that i fixed the bug. Maybe something went wrong with the upload of the patch. I made now some new logmessages so i can see that you are using the right patch. Please download it again with this link and try.
PS.: Before the contextmenu was loaded on every click, now its loaded only on right or doubleclick - so please try this also. |

Success! The latest patch is different than the first patch. When I installed this patch a bunch more update info scrolled on the screen, and notepad opened showing all the latest revisions. The first patch did not do that.
Now I am able to left or right click on an image file, and it shows the image as a thumbnail in the description section. If I double click the file it opens the image and displays in whatever viewer. If I right click it displays the context menu.
Good job! Thanks for following through and fixing the problem. Will there be another release, or should I just keep using what I have? |

Thanks for your response. I have spent some time on trying to find a repetitive behaviour when the application crashes and this is my finding's.
The first time the application is freshly installed and run, for example no synchronization done between the w850i and the HP TC1100 (Windows XP Tablet PC edition). Every thing is fine meaning you can click on the file option to browse the files on the phone without any problem.
However when the application is closed and is relaunched again. All further xxx of a folder in MyPhoneExplorer File browse window causes the application to crash.
This bug can be easy verified by continously deleting the folder in user_folder /Application_Data/MyPhoneExplorer.
and the application will work. Not deleting the folder between session will show this bug.
Many thanks in advance

You didn't read my question ?
Does it also fix the problem if you delete only the file general.ini in the Datafolder of MyPhoneExplorer ? |

OK, then delete the cache-folder for files - try - delete settings.ini,...

OK, then delete the cache-folder for files - try - delete settings.ini,...
So i can reproduce on which file the crash depends.
Can I start by pointing out the structure of my cache folder as follows:-
user\Application Data\MyPhoneExplorer\Sony Ericsson W850 [352401011024712]
and contains the following files
(1) Phonebook.dat
(2) SMS.dat
(3) Organizer.dat
(4) Calls.dat
(5) Settings.dat
I deleted the settings.dat file as suggested but did not make a difference. I further went to delete each file in the cache folder one by one and re-launch the application hoping to identify the file that was causing the problem, and on each attempt it crashed.
Like I mention in an earlier mail the only time I have not experienced a crash is when MyPhoneExplorer is deleted completely.
May I use this opportunity to say the program runs okay on my other machine that is runing windows xp proffessional. The one I am experiencing this problem with is running windows xp tablet pc edition.
May I suggest looking at the windows API that gets called when the user clicks mouse on the File option.
regards

There are many API-Calls during this. Basicly registry-functions to get the exploreres Context-commands.
