Display in task and status bar

Is it possible to set MPE to run in either the statusbar or taskbar exclusively i.e. in just one but not the other?

If not, then could this be added as a configurable option in future releases?

Just to be sure we're talking the correct lingo: by status bar I really mean the "notification area" as it has been termed since Windows Vista on...

You can minimize the main application into the notification area (the little button to left of the Minimize Button). If the application is active its not possible to hide the button in the task bar

Our configuration sets MPE to open on start-up and also has the "X set to minimize instead of close" option checked. This is what we prefer but equally so it would also be helpful to have it run solely from the taskbar.

It would be helpful to have the behaviour configurable for user like us who are using a laptop with a small display or those who have to use virtual desktop managers to stay organised.

Failing that, when using the sync plug-in with a PIM (Thunderbird in our case) perhaps the program could run for just as long it needed to, then closing itself immediately after a sync?

Anyway, thanks for writing MPE - it really is the most wonderful tool.
