Primary phone number?

OK. An Android contact has a 'primary', or 'default', phone number associated with it. You can change to another phone number by long-pressing on that numjber and choosing 'set default' (or whatever your Android/ROM version says). What I would like to know is, when syncing with Outlook (2010 in my case) how is the primary number set by MPE, if at all?

I ask because I have been trying to see how Outlook defines the primary number and apparently, according to a forum posting I saw by a Microsoft employee, it has no concept of this 'primary number'. But it would be nice to control which number gets to be primary when the contacts are sync'ed to the phone?

The default number tag is currently not supported but its on my todo list

Thanks for the answer. Do you have any idea how/ehy Android decides on the 'default' number then? I ask as I use Outlook as my master database. This has no concept of a 'default' number. MPE, you say, does not use the 'default' tag, yet Android takes the information I've passed to it from Outlook and 'decides' that each contact has a 'default' number.

It's not an issue as such, just that if I knew how it worked I could organise phone numbers a little better perhaps.

I would think Android will choose the first number in the contact database
