I tried to upgrade to MPE 1.8.5 but is seems that the installation file is infected! Until this is fixed I cannot upgrade and cannot use it with Outlook 2013. |

yep, run the installer and deselect every add-on and you will still get infested with PC utilities Pro . . . scamware at the least! Download site FossWeb will say they have no control over what software developers add to their install programs. Very disappointed with MyPhoneExplorer authors . . . |

I confirm that the last version, 1.8.5, is infested by a Lollipop malware which is detected by Microsoft Security Essentials during installation (C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\LollipopInstaller_somoto_14693.exe) but not blocked. You can manually remove it, using CCleaner and Microsoft Task Manager, however I am not sure that my computer is now completely clean (some trouble at starting since then). I was ready to donate, but not in such condition . |

I just installed pc version 1.8.5 of MPE. I have used the app before and was planning to donate after I tried this version out. I deselected all the junk that the installer wanted to install (as far as I could tell). Nonetheless, when the install completed I had a shortcut to a SweetPacks installer on my desktop (I deleted it and the installer).
Then, when I started IE, Firefox, and Chrome, I found a new toolbar and search engine - Conduit. I took me well over an hour to clean up the mess.
I understand that the developer would like to profit from this app. I actually like it a lot, and would gladly have paid for it. I would have preferred the ability to download a time limited trial version without the crapware.
I will not be recommending MPE to anyone because of the crapware. At the moment, I am too annoyed to make the donation I had planned to. Maybe we can have an alternative paid version with no crapware.
Additional info:
Just looked at the MPE 1.8.5 I installed. I downloaded it from fjsoft on Aug 28, 2013. It is 7.09 MB. I just downloaded it again (Sep 21) and it is 6.75 MB. What gives? Has anyone installed the 6.75 MB version on Win 7 without crapware difficulties? |

Nope, works fine for me,without the adware which you can uninstall through the installer (conduit is the step,it says make the toolbar .. and make the homepage....) those two steps you need to look after. |
