Sent SMS messages split on Galaxy S4 and Android 4.4

Hi,
I have used MPE on the PC to send an SMS today and the message has been split into ridiculously short messages.

The only causes that I can think of are, first, that this is a new phone (Galaxy S4) running the latest Android version (4.4.2) and, second, the message contains non-ascii characters since it's in French. The latter possible explanation doesn't seem plausible to me since I've always used MPE for that kind of messages without any problems on a previous phone.

The most annoying thing though is not the splitting, it's the fact that the split messages are unordered in MPE (instead of having parts 1-2-3-4-5, I have parts 5-4-1-3-2). Screenshot of the SMS in MPE on the PC.

Is there any configuration that I can give to MPE so that such a splitting is avoided?

[EDIT] After another SMS message sent from the PC client has been split again today, I now resort to writing my messages using the phone's SMS apps. In that case, long messages (of a length that is comparable to that of the messages split when sent from MPE) are not split.

I've come to think that the problem might denote a compatibility issue and the MPE mobile app should be updated.

Having the same problem on my S4 in English. Started happening after upgrade to KitKat.

Its a firmware bug of Android 4.4, i hope it will be fixed with the next Android version. The only workaround is to set MyPhoneExplorer as Standard-SMS-App when you send long messages.

is the issue ("message split") fixed in Android 5.0?

If somebody knows this, please, let me know here.
