When attempting to connect to my phone the time MPE returns the error:
"Connection to phone could not be established: No device attached to USB"
This is a new implementation, I have just installed MPE and I have followed the instructions to enable USB Debugger and I can see the phone in Windows as soon as I connect it to the USB cable. I have installed the Samsung ADB drivers on my computer. I have looked in the Program Files x86\MyPhoneExplorer folder but there is no debug.txt file present.
I have reviewed other cases on this forum but none seem to address the issue as I have followed the suggestions offered but the problem persists.
The hardware and software versions are below:
- Model of your phone: Samsung Galaxy S4, Android version 4.4.2
- Type of connection: USB
- MPE-version: 1.8.5
- Windows version: Windows 7 64 bit
What should I do to resolve this? |

Where did you get the ADB Drivers for Samsung ? There are many packages in the www, to be sure its better to install Samsung KIES for the latest drivers. If USB Debugging is enabled and the drivers are installed then you should see a entry called "Samsung ADB Interface" in your devicemanager on the PC - is this the case for you ? |

First I installed the USB drivers downloaded from Samsung using the file SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones and then created the original post. After reading your reply I downloaded and installed Kies3Setup from the Samsung support site. I still get the same error and I cannot find ADB in the Device Manager anywhere. Should ADB be a top level entry or should in be a sub-entry in USB? In either case I looked through all sections of the Device Manager and cannot find ADB anywhere. |

KIES doesn't see the phone either even though the phone says it is charging while connected to the computer. Is there something special about the USB cable? |

No, I don't think there is anything special with the cable. I successfully established USB connection using the two cables that I used to use with the four-year old HTC Desire. |

For Samsung phones it should look like this:
Issues with cables are seldom but they exist. With my Nexus i had exactly the same issue - all things worked except the ADB-Features, the reason was the cable - unbelievable. Also try another USB-Port of the PC and doublecheck if USB-Debugging is still enabled on the phone. |

I got the same error. I checked my phone, and noticed that there is no longer an option to connect the USB on Charge Only. I can only connect as Media device (MTP) or Camera (PTP). Neither of these seems to work.
Hardware:
- Samsung Galaxy S4 model GT-I9505
Software:
- Android v.4.4.2
- Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit
- KIES 3 is installed
- Samsung ADB Interface is installed.
Unfortunately my desktop doesn't have WiFi, nor does it have Bluetooth - would it work if I got a suitable dongle for it?
Please help!!! |
