I am new to Windows 8.1, on a new Asus Transformer T100. I used to use XP and HTC Sync with Outlook for my HTC Wildfire S. MPE looks as though it will allow me to move from Outlook, if only I can establish a connection.
MPE Client 1.0.34 seems happily installed; MPE 1.8.6 also seems OK on the desktop. Windows insists that all USB drivers are up-to-date and I can find no way of changing them. I have installed HTC Sync, but can see no sign of its drivers using Device Manager etc.
The full-sized USB socket I am using is USB 3.0. There is amicro-USB 2 socket but I do not have a micro-micro lead.
You will see that I have focussed on the drivers, but I may have missed something obvious elsewhere; ignorance is very annoying.
