Lucky, I have my sync options on manual confirm, because after the upgrade to the new PC version all my contacts are somehow out of sync. In other words, MPE is failing to compare like-with-like and is trying to match up different contacts, and so is failing.
Is there anything I can do to correct this, because I dare not sync until I have done this as I do not want to mess up my contacts.
Thanks |

It's been 10 days since this post and I can't sync my contacts until it is resolved. Can someone please tell my what to reset to avoid this mis-sync? |

So, what OS is on the PC? Are you sync'ing with MPE on its own or are you trying to sync with Outlook or Thunderbird? Have you checked that the time/date/timezone is correct on both PC and phone?
What holds the "master" copy of your contacts? Is it your phone or your PC? If PC is it MPE or Outlook/Thunderbird? |

Thanks for getting back to me!
OK, I'm on windows 8.1 and syncing with outlook. I am syncing both ways as I make changes to both contacts on phone and on PC regularly, but I guess my PC is the defacto master.
I am sure this has happened before and I posted about this then and got an answer, but I can't find my old post! I think I had to delete some MPE files (and index maybe) so that it had to rebuild.
Most of the contacts are matching up fine, but around 40 or so have become mismatched, as if there are two cogs and the teeth and jumped a sprocket or two, so that MPE is trying to compare an outlook contact with the wrong phone/MPE contact... |

Right, you're sync'ing with Outlook which is what I do (but on an XP Pro machine). If I was in your situation with a new PC and/or the sync problems you're having I would first ensure that the PC really is up to date as the "master" (mine always is). Then I would delete all contact storage on my phone (in the Apps menu). Within MPE (on the PC) I would hit the big blue arrow (Download Entire) - this zeros the MPE contacts. I would then re-sync, probably forcing Outlook -> phone.
A brute force approach but sometimes it's not worth the extra hassle of trying to figure out what has gone wrong. (I can sympathise with call centres dealing with issues such as these ... ).
