Old SMS Messages Archive & Restoration

Hi MPE Team,

First up, I wish to congratulate and thank you for such a fine & useful piece of work.

I had factory reset my phone (HTC DEsire HD 516 Dual Sim). After this, I could not connect to MPE (because the MPE client from the phone was erased during the factory reset). I could not figure out the way to make MPE recognize my phone, so I reinstalled MPE (under a different folder). Unfortunately, this did not work either. I intentionally installed into a new folder because I wanted to preserve the archived messages.

Then I got the idea to re-enable USB Debugging Mode. After this, I tried reconnecting to MPE and after a longer period, it worked! Unfortunately, it is now a fresh installation and all my earlier archived sms messages are missing.

Is there a way to locate the previously archived messages & transfer them back to my phone? I'm not so concerned about the contacts or schedules as I have them on my PC's Outlook. I just don't know what to do about the SMS messages. I have not created a backup file in MPE before, so I cannot restore anything.

Please advise.

Thank you.

I have the same question please. I have transferred all my messages to the message archive in MPE and deleted the same from my phone before doing a factory reset. I'm now not able to find an option where I can transfer the mesages from the MPE message archive to my phone. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The install folder from MyPhoneExplorer is not relevant.
The standard folder for the dates is %appdata%\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer\...
You can change it => MPE => F2 => Advanced 2 => Datbase
The name from archived sms messages is SMSArchive.dat
But I afraid you have is overwritten and then you have no chance without backup :?

@raj_srini
MPE => Messages => Archive (computer) => messages list
- <Ctrl> + <A> (all mark)
- kontext menu of the SMS list => Copy to phone => In original storage

Best regards
