Android keeps disabling MPE client to send SMS text messages

Hello

I got a new Androphone that keeps disabling MPE as the SMS client with the following pop-up message when I try to send a message from my Windows computer:

Until I confirm that I do want MPE to keep handling SMS mesasges, 1) I cannot send text messages, 2) the MPE Windows client will silently fail sending and 3) won't keep a draft copy of the message

As a result, I must…
  1. switch the phone screen on to answer Yes to keep MPE as the SMS application, and
  2. make sure I copy/pasted the message I wanted to send, so I can just paste it back into the MPE Windows application instead of retyping the whole thing.
Here are the infos about the phone: HUAWEI P8 Lite (ALE-L21) running Android 5.0 + EMUI 3.1 (firmware ALE-L21C432B136).

Thank you.

Well, what is the question?
The restriction of SMS Apps comes from Android itself and neither the MPE nor any other App can do anything about it.
So the MPE deals with this issue by providing a dialog an the phone and that´s the best that can be done.

The question is: How can I tell Android to stop bothering me, and just let MPE handle all SMS messages from now on?

Just this morning, I've had to unlock the phone and hit that dialog several times to send/receive SMS messages. Annoying.

Incidently, I never had that problem with my previous phone (Galaxy Nexus running CyanogenMod). Is that issue due to Android 5.0 or EMUI 3.1?

FIY, MPE client is 1.0.37. There are not authorization options for the MPE client in the Settings > Apps section.

Well, set the MPE as your standard SMS client. But if you wanna use a different SMS app you´ll have to change back.

There is nothing you can do about.

Yes, but the phone keeps prompting me several times a day when I send an SMS: It won't record and stop prompting :-/

And what app are you using right in this moment?
