Duplicates.... Why No Feature to Locate & Delete Them Ea

I realize this is an ongoing issue for some time and I have tried every trick suggested but Duplicates between my contacts in OUTLOOK and my ANDROID phone continue to occur using every type of sync provided I tried. I do not use Google so its only between the phone and Outlook 2010.... Even if I manually DELETE those duplicates in one device, they propagate to the other.

Since this is a widely known issue, why does this not have a FIND AND DELETE DUPLICATE Feature.. as found in so many other programs?

I want MPE to work, but this is so frustrating!

Don´t get me wrong but all of the "we have duplicate contacts" cases came down to an error in using the MPE.

What did you allready do to get rid of your dupicates?
And please, be as specific as you can.

I appreciate your desire to assist so thank you...

1) Uninstalled & Reinstalled Both Desktop & Mobile MPE Clients
2) Set up to ONLY connect to One (1) Source.. Outlook
3) Reviewed All Contacts & Cleaned up or eliminated any possible Duplicates
4) Reviewed and confirmed all SYNC Settings in Desktop Advanced

I am currently testing this latest install by only Syncing One Way... From Desktop to Client.

I welcome any other possibilities * suggestions as to why Duplicates propagate.

I´m pretty sure, this is were the problem is to find.

For example, did you, after deleting the duplicates, reload all entries from the phone (Blue Arrow)?

Indeed I did....... Am I correct that in order to DELETE any Duplicates, one must start from scratch, i.e. Delete everything and ReLoad? For those of us who have this issue come up periodically with no specific reason, would it not be a great feature to have a Duplicate Finder within the program? Or is it there and I'm not aware of it. I've read others suggesting that a separate program be purchased to purge duplicates.

If the MPE is set up correctly, you don´t have any duplicates and there won´t be any at a periodical time frame. So, this feature you´re asking for is not needed and this is why FJ hasn´t build it yet.

First of all, you have to check all the settings from the start again.
That means the settings in the MPE on the computer AND in the client on the phone.
Be sure that only the right contacts are chosen to be synced.
Also you have to chek in yout phone that there is absolutely no sync between your phone and any onlice service (e.g. Google). Make sure that you don´t start syncing your WhatsApp contacts.

I appreciate all your suggestions and will re-review them to hopefully eliminate any possible source for this to occur.

After you reviewed all settings, delete the duplicates on the phone by hand.
After that reload from phone (Blue Arrow) and then start a sync.

That should do the trick.

Just when I thought all was well, my wife's Galaxy S5 (the one discussed) again has the same issues.

When she did a SYNC, MPE displayed the permission screen to change/add contacts.

I immediately went into the mobile client pages under contacts, and I had last left it only connecting to PHONE... NOTHING Else... Where it should have been.

Now EVERY "Accounts to Sync Box" was ticked off....... Nothing she or I did.

Previous to this I uninstalled and reinstalled MPE Mobile on it to insure no older files were corrupting the process.

I hope you might have a explanation how this can "Auto Fill" the 3 other Google and Cloud Accounts we never chose.

In the MPE Desktop, Upper Left in CONTACTS, it lists not only the PHONE, but also "Google" "G-Mail" & "CLOUD"... None of these are what we have chosen to Sync......

Now, did I get you right? There was an autonomous background sync active?
So we found the source for the trouble?

As for the question how something like this could happen. I don´t know. I only know that one has to be verry careful with that issue. There are so many parts in Androids menues where some small changes can have huge effects.

You always have to check both, the MPE on the PC and the client on the phone.

Checked Both

In order to confirm everything was compatible settings in both, I once again DELETE Both Clients and re-insssssstalled everything from the beginning paying attention to every setting so there were supposedly no conflicts between the two.....

Yes.. it makes sense if one device has options the other does not, but I am surprised if one device can change the settings on the other, especially with no ERROR Messages warning that an incompatible setup was performed.

For example in MPE Desktop, I specifically ticked only Calendars to Sync as "MY CALENDAR"... and did the same in the Mobile Client.

5 minutes later as I again was checking settings, the Desktop was Still Correct, but the Mobile Client CHANGED! It populated and ticked of ALL the other 4 Calendars... NONE of which I chose originally. This is the same issue that occurred with the Contacts.

What possibly is changing these settings? Especially when I have double checked that both clients did not have different settings?
