Has anyone ever done/tried this? I have a desktop machine that I am currently running MPE on, connected to sync with a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and it works beautifully. I recently purchased a Nextbook that I will be using as a traveling companion. Desktop unit runs Windows 7, Nextbook is Windows 10.
Both have Office 2016 installed. Is it possible to have MPE running on both the desktop and the Nextbook, syncing with the phone, so that (in effect) if I make a change on the calendar in the Nextbook and it syncs with the phone, the next time the phone syncs with the desktop unit the change shows up on the desktop's Outlook calendar? I really don't want to use a cloud-based calendar system to try linking all three. |

Sure this works. I recommend you use a third party app like Outlook to sync with. |

Thanks! I neglected to mention that I am using Outlook (in MS Office) for the calendars. Set it up on both, and it's syncing them (yay!).
However, I've also run into a couple quirks - I have 2 calendars set up within Outlook (one work, one personal). When viewing them on either machine, they are side by side, but when they appear on MPE, all appointments are merged into one. Any idea if MPE has some sort of option to keep them separated? Otherwise, when they sync through the phone and transfer to one of the computers, it puts all changes/updates to calendar on the primary calendar and I have to move appointments.
Also, for whatever reason, when it synced with the Nextbook from the phone, it deleted all the previous appointments off the phone... the option I found in the settings (on the Nextbook) to do that is turned off. Any ideas what is going on there?
Thanks! |

Don't think you can do it in one go and keep both separate. But you can do it by sync'ing twice. Seems like you have Outlook sorted, you just need to have 2 calendars on the phone. If you don't have 2 then (on the phone) MPE - Settings > Manage local calendars to set another up. Then you'll have to sync each individually by swapping the following:
on the PC: MPE > Settings > Sync > (events and tasks) Advanced > (choose) Folder to sync
on the phone: MPE > Settings > Calendars to sync & Add new events to
Then in your calendar app you'll need to 'display' the calendar you want to see (or both). Oh, and you'll have to be sure you set the calendars correctly each time or you'll get mixed up .....
NB: I don't do this myself (no need) so this is 'theory' based on using MPE for several years and knowing what the settings do. |

LOL - sounds like it could be a lot more complex than it's worth, easier to just remember to move appointments from the primary to the secondary calendars! I may play around with it and see what will work. Thanks though! |

Well, the settings for multiple calendars have to be done once. After that it´s no effort att all. |

Hmmm. What exactly are you saying here as I'm not sure.
I mean, if you want to sync 2 Outlook calendars to 2 phone calendars then surely, at least the first time you sync, you must do them one at a time? Otherwise how does MP)E know which Outlook calendar should be sync'ed with which phone calendar?
Assuming you do this the first time, are you saying that after that then MPE knows which calendars are sync'ed together and you can just select all of them at the same time?
Thanks for any clarification. |

Sorry Dave, I didn't make it clear enough. Originally (with the 2 calendars on the desktop) I was ok if it combined both into the one calendar in the phone - I had the info I needed at a glance when I was out & about, showing all appointments from both calendars for any given day. There's an option under settings for which calendars to pull from and sync into the phone.
However, when I got the Nextbook and put Outlook on it, I wanted to have the calendars separated like the desktop unit. MPE synced with the Nextbook Outlook calendar, but put all appointments in one calendar so I ended up having to move several to the second calendar in Outlook.
So, to summarize...
Appointments are in 2 calendars in Outlook 2016 on desktop and Nextbook.
Sync desktop to phone puts all appointments combined into 1 calendar.
Sync phone to Nextbook puts all appointments onto primary calendar (and for some reason, is deleting all past appointments from phone at that point even though that option is not checked).
Just trying to figure if there's a way to "tell" MPE:
Appointments from "X" calendar should be synced to "X" calendar in both Outlooks, not "combine all when syncing to Nextbook" (keep & sync "X" calendar appointments to/from"X" calendar, "Y" appointments to/from "Y" calendar).
I think DVHTTN hit it with separating them in the phone, and syncing separately, but that point, I got lost! LOL |

Hey wait, you didn´t check the settings in the MPE and the client about which calendar to be synced and which entries are to be written in which calendar? |

Hold on - the only settings I found for syncing were under File-settings-sync, then under Events and Tasks, Advanced, there is a check mark for Sync Events, and then it lists the calendars in Outlook that I can select to sync. I don't see an option to direct which entry goes to which calendar, or am I not looking in the right place? |

uh oh... my German is lousy - the only option/selection I have in that area is "Outlook Data File\tasks", nothing else. Is there some way to change that, and if so, what should it be? |

It´s not about the tasks, thats simply where the mouse pointer was at the time I took the screenshot.
Look at the calendars above. There are several of them and each of them is assigned to a special calendar in Outlook. |

There are two calendars checked but did you also set which calendar in the phone has to be synced with which calendar in outlook? |
