Hello, after updating Windows 10 to the newest version (April 2018 Update) MyPhoneExplorer (tested both 1.8.9 and 1.8.8 versions, portable and normal) started to crash after starting up. It briefly displays the main window and crashes.
It may have something to do with W10Privacy, O&O ShutUp10 and Destroy Windows Spying. Those apps modify the OS heavily in order to block Microsoft from spying on users, but sometimes they block features used by normal software. I tried to disable all the options in W10Privacy and O&O ShutUp10 (Destroy Windows Spying doesn't have revert option), but it didn't help.
Log from "Debug.txt" probably won't help, since it looks like this:

Is there a debug version anywhere so more information about the reason for this behavior can be obtained? |

I tested it on other computer with Windows 10 and April 2018 Update installed and it works. So my conclusion is that those privacy apps broke something. One of the irreversible actions they perform is uninstalling certain Windows 10 apps. Maybe there're some dependencies there? Like "Contacts" app? |

For me it wasn't fixed. I'll probably need to reinstall Windows to make it work again. I was hoping that I'll be able to find some less time-consuming solution, but it seems that it won't happen. |

I don't know if I have to install my Windows again like you. That makes me re-install a lot of other software on my computer |

I reinstalled Windows, used privacy apps again with exactly the same settings and this time it works. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

The "Control Panel->Region->Administrative->Change system locale...->Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" setting was the culprit. It must be disabled. |

I can`t find the UTF-8 Worldwide unicode setting to disable
Can anyone point me to it ? - preferrably with screenshots since Windows changes ...
Edit: Win10 German - Workaround: After start Error appears - Press cancel - Then in my case MPE starts.. |
