hello and thank you for your answer.
first, i love your software... i was looking for it since 5 months...and i am reelly sorry that i didn't discover it sooner.
very very good job !!!
wouldn't it be better if the client launch when i turn on the phone ???
so when i launch the program on the pc, it connects automaticly.... (if it is possibile that the client on the phone detect each time the desktop program trys to connect)
i also notice that when i close the program on my pc and i launch it one hour later.. i have to relaunch egain the client on the phone... |

The 15 minutes timeout is inbuild to save battery and to improve the security. It would be not a good idea to run the app the whole time. Maybe there is a way to start the client if you reach the home-wifi-network. I have to check this |

in my last message, i wanted to say that it would be good that when i launch the program on the pc... it connect to the phone witouth having to launch anything each time on the phone
But the best of the best... would be that anytime the phone connects to the wifi... myphoneexplorer connects automaticly to the pc without having to launch the pc program or the phone client.
my nokia worked like that with bluetooth but maybe this is not possible by wifi ! |

you are right... if anyone can connect to the phone when i am on wifi, it can be a risk but maybe if you put a password on the phone client... and we have to input a password on the program on the pc client?? (with ability to save the password so we don't have to input it each time ?)
it would be a good security improvment.
for the battery i don't know... does it use very much battery if the client is turning on the phone but it is not connected to the pc ???
(i am sorry my english is not good at all i hope you understand what i mean) |

Yes, cause the client keeps WiFi alive |

actually, my wifi is always turned on, when i am outside, my phone uses the 3g but each time i come home the phone detects automaticly my wifi and connects automaticly to my wifi routeur.
i think most people uses the wifi like that.
is this the same than when you say that the client keeps wifi alive ?
when you say that the client keeps wifi alive, will it be different and use more battery than the way i use the wifi on my phone ? |

I don't think its the same. It has the same result, but the system-app handles here when a WiFi-Router is searched... |

THank you for your answers.
i hope you will find a way because i think that most user would like that.

maybe at least...
you should let the user chose if he wants a timout or not... and how many times he wants the timeout.
so he can decide himself how he wants to manage hes battery !!!! It is better than if you decide for him |

Following up on this;
People can use Tasker on android (search for it in the market) to automate the starting of myPhoneExplorer client when a known wifi network is found.
Works great, it first turns on wifi if I'm nearby my house, then searches for my ssid and when found, starts myPhoneExplorer. Then after 5 minutes, it closes MPE automatically.
Only problem is though, it won't automatically connect.
I have the program on my pc always running in the background and would wish that when the android client gets started, it initiates a sync. Now I have always have to open MPE on the pc and press F1, but it'd would be nicefor this to be fully automated... |

A lot of people have been asking for an auto-sync feature. |

I don't like the idea of automatic (hidden) sync. The user should know when the device is synced. This is not a technical reason - its strategic |
