Is it possible to set up a Group in my Contacts and send a bulk text to that group?

Or is there another way to accomplish the same outcome?

Can the same be done in chat?

Yes you can send a SMS to a contact group.

start a new message, beside the word Recipient and before the field are two Icons

One for "add number for address book"
One for "Favourites"

The Favourites is really "Contact Group"

Also
A further option you may find useful is the icon below the word Recipient
"Insert Text Template" which allows you to have present Template.
There is a character limit on this (not sure why?
