how to restore APP and DATA

this info is for version 1.8.5 (december 2013)

hie, i just backup my galaxy s3 with my phone explorer, the software is great with the basic like contact,sms and phone history.

but it lack info on how to restore your app and data.

FIRST PART BACKING UP

when you want to back up your phone (for English version)
you go to :

1) EXTRAS>CREATE BACKUPS

then you have to enter a name for you backup file in order to be able to find it.

2) after you select the name of your futur backup you get to choose what do you want Inside :

CONTACTS (phone)
CALL LOG
EVENT AND TASK
NOTES
SMS (phone)
SMS ARCHIVE (computer)

those are the classic option, but on the right you also get to choose FILE and APPLICATION,be carreful, once you check the box, MPE is going to go through you phone to find them (take time) and then you get to choose what you want to save by xxx box in a drop list.

when you finaly have choose what your going to get you can click on CREATE BACKUP (but be carreful, depending on the amount of data you choose, it can take few hours (average of 4)

SECOND PART RESTORING

once this is done, you can back to the menu and select

EXTRA>RESTORE BACKUP,

choose the file....BUT, and thise is where i don't get it, you have only

CONTACTS (phone)
CALL LOG
EVENT AND TASK
NOTES
SMS (phone)
SMS ARCHIVE (computer)

available....thise are the only stuff getting restored, so how can i get all my app, and data that go with it (like save for a game ect....) to be move back to my phone ????

please help

You can upload the files and apps throught the file manager in MyPhoneExplorer. Please note: The App-Data itself (settings,...) cannot ba backupped cause of technical restrictions.

SO i know this is old but having issue. i find it funny that this is suppose to be an image backup but if the software cant truely backup app data then its misrepresenting and not a true image backup. it puts my apps there but all the saved app data is GONE!!!

I found out what the directions above mean. Here's what you do

Go to the (file manager) task pane on the left (Contacts, Call Log, Organizer, Messages...) and under Files, there are 3 options: Internal storage, System storage, and Applications

>Select applications
>Use the upload icon to select and upload your apk files
>Upload the apk file from your backups one at a time.

Restoring the backup will save time instead of reinstalling applications from Google Play Store. You can also delete apk files on your phone thru MyPhoneExplorer. Although the apk data cannot be restored, other files like your pictures and music can be restored.
