I can see this has been a problem in the past.
I have just bought a new phone, a Nokia 8. It is an Android One phone so I decided to try to use only Android / Google apps. So I am using Google calendar Android 8.1 and on my PC I Have Outlook 2010. I forced Outlook onto the phone. Now, 1 synch later, most of my birthday entries have duplicates in Outlook. When I look in Outlook, I have one entry that is as it should be. The second is incorrect in the following way:
When I created the entry in Outlook many many years ago I set the recurrence to recur every 1 years and the start date as the date of birth, for example 19 Set 1955 and the recurrence as yearly on 19 Sept, the Start time is 00.00 end time 00.00 duration 1day. Now that entry says the start date is 18 Sept 1980 and the recurrence is to recurr every 18 Sept with the time start 2300 and End 2300 duration 0 minutes . Also the TimeZone menu item is highlighted and the calendar entry says Recurrence: Occurs every Sept 18 at 2300(GMT): Dublin, London,.....
IN the Google calendar it just says 19 September repeating every year and I just have one entry
Having looked thru the forum I can see there might be a problem with the start date being before 1980. Also it seems to me that maybe there is a timezone problem that has thrown everything out by 1 hour. I see that the google calendar settings say use internet time. It shows it as GMT but with a sun symbol after it as if it is still in Summertime.
This is a big problem for me since my Outlook calendar has been messed up and that is normally the one I see as the master.
Does anyone have any ideas. It affects nearly 300 entries in my calendar. |
