SD Card write access on root with Android 12

I'm migrating my wife's new phone and sadly found that Android 12 has restricted even more access to external SD card... :(

The problem is when running a sync task and the message is "Can't use this folder. To protect your privacy, choose another folder."

https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestio ... _external/

Seems that MPE client should request "All Files Access"

Here there is a workaround https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/solv ... d.4481999/
But on this Motorola Moto G52 there isn't a developer option called "Force Write Access to External SD for all Apps"

Addendum: the requests are also for "Internal Storage" and seems that selecting each folder proposed let MPE go on and sync!

Do you have maybe an old Client Version?
MyPhoneExplorer Client already requests the "All file access" permission. The most recent version of the client is v2.8

No, it was 2.8...
I'm sure because the backup was fine so into the saved app I have this: MyPhoneExplorer Client_2.8.apk

Please uninstall MyPhoneExplorer Client
Then install the app again and run MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone.
He will show you several permission dialogs, confirm them all and then try again to access your SD card

Hi FJ, I did that and this time I didn't get the message "Can't use this folder. To protect your privacy, choose another folder."

Phone asked for access permission on these folders (both for Internal and External) as before
- MemoryCard\Android\data
- MemoryCard\Android\obb
- ExternalStorage\Android\data
- ExternalStorage\Android\obb

Then I have done another sync for both Internal and External and I didn't get any other request from Phone!

BTW, the first MPE client install was during the migration process by Google itself, I cannot say which requests MPE has shown on first sync...

This maybe is something good for a FAQ!!
