Run-time Error 28 (Out of stack space)

MyPhoneExplorer starts and connects correctly to a Samsung A52s (Android 14) mobile phone.

When I try to do the backup, in the middle of backing up the MESSAGES from the phone, the Run-time Error 28 (Out of stack space) pops up and MyPhoneExplorer crashes.

It does that at least 8-10 times repeatedly before the backup can continue normally. The Run-time Error 28 always appears in the middle of backing up the MESSAGES. Never elsewhere during the backup.
The error is independent of the way the phone is connected to the PC (either Wi-Fi or USB cable).

My PC runs Win11 (latest version) and has 32GB of memory. So I can't blame the PC for memory shortage. What is causing the problem? Is it a software bug? Rolling Eyes

SHOULD I GO BACK to Version 2.0?

PS: I have donated quite a few times money to the creator of MyPhoneExplorer.

The Run-time Error 28 pops up ONLY when trying to backup the SMS Messages from the phone.
Does MyPhoneExplorer have a limit on the number of messages that can read from the phone? Rolling Eyes

Please try to backup/restore the SMS using the app SMS Backup & Restore

since today, I can't back up my mobile with MPE
Either it stops without warning, or it stops with this "Run-time Error 28 (Out of stack space)" warning.

Additionally (I am not sure both events are linked), all my mails classified under folders in Thunderbird have disappeared. The files in C:/users/xx/appdata/roaming/thunderbird/profiles/fileoftheday/mails (and also imapmails) date now from a long time ago....

Hi, any news about the "Run-time Error 28 (Out of stack space)" warning ?

I would like to avoid to use an additional app like SMS Backup & Restore in one hand and MPE in another hand for the rest

PS: I have solved my issue with data having disappeared in profiles/fileoftheday/mails

Do you still have this issue in MyPhoneExplorer 2.2 ?
I did make several changes to avoid this.

Yes I have version 2.2 and still have issues . But Hurrah, today I was able to save all .
I processed this way:

When invited to select which items to save , I select "sms" , "call log" etc on the left panel as usual.
But also I selected "files" and "applications" on the right panel, then I DESELECTED all that was ticked in "files" and "applications" .

Then "create back up" and it worked rather swiftly without crashing, without Error 28!

I tried Valerie's method of selecting everything on the left and then selecting everything in the Files and Apps sections and THEN deselecting everything in the Files and Apps sections....but it didn't work either. However, the error was not the Error 28 but error 440.
Having issues in pasting screenshot.
Any help?

Forgot to confirm that I'm on version 2.2
