My incoming message is the voice of Worf telling Captain Picard that there is an incoming message. This is not something I want repeated continuously!
Can you set an option to have the incoming sound repeated or not please. I have to go back to the previous version in the meantime.
Thanks... |

Just tried with the official v1.7.1 and there is no loop. Please download and install v1.7.1 again to ensure that you have really the latest version. |

Thanks. I re-downloaded and reinstalled version 1.7.1: the looping incoming message continued. I went back to version 1.7.0 and the looping stopped.
I am using Vista.
How do you account for this? Do you have a solution?
MyPhoneExplorer is a great application. It is a great boost to my productivity. Please keep up the improvements... |

The file I use is:
mailworf.wav
I could try another file or file type - but now I am moving away from how I want the application to work.
Since version 1.7.0 is Ok - I will stick with it and hope that some future version solves this problem. Maybe others have had a similar experience, but did not notice since looping is a natural option for music or a simple tune. |

Hi my friends,
From my point of view,in 1.7.1, the loop is added to "new incoming calls" not incoming messages and it is logical.
I'm using the same sound files as I used in 1.7.0
Although FJ had told me, but I'm connecting my P1i through widdcom bluetooth dungle "com3 standard modem over bluetooth Link" and it works perfectly both in XP and Vista64
Connection stability is improved in 1.7.1, thanks to Mr. HIRO FJ

I am glad someone else has noticed the new incomming calls looping.
I am also glad it is logical for some of us.
I am not sure there is a point making the distinction between incomming call or message if the looping process is the same on both of them.
For me, it is not my prefered option to have the sound file loop while the call or message is incoming. I feel the best option is to give the user a choice to have the sound file loop or not loop.
To loop or not to loop. That is the question.
What is your answer Myphone?
Incidentally Myphone is a great application...Many thanks... |

Dear Tosime,
In general I'm agree with this option, but do you have such options in your cell phone itself? I think no SE models let you disable the loop for incoming calls. |

Hi Khosrow,
I don't think I have the option for looping or not looping the incoming calls message on my phone.
But my phone does have the option for increasing ring volume; whis is a nice option for looped messages or calls. In this way I am not startled when a call starts and my speaker was set to very loud because what of what I was listening to before.
So to take this request further, how about increasing volume as an option for the incoming message or call sound? |

Dear Tony,
I know that controlling the loop is more easier than increasing ring tone.
We can ask Mr. FJ to help us modify related file. |

Currently i don't understand where is the problem. If the message-sound loops - this is a bug, but i cannot reproduce it. For a incoming call the ringtone should loop. If you don't want this then just edit the file in a audioprogram and add 5 minutes silence behind the ringtone.
About increasing the PC-Volume: i don't think that this is needed. |

I guess editing the sound file is an option. And if I had 10 sound files, I would need to edit all 10 of them. And if 100 of us each had 10 files, that would be 1000 edits.
It might take less time to modify the application. Then it would not matter how many people, or how many sound files there were. Also, whether or not anyone could reproduce the bug.
My solution was to go back to a previous version. Eventually, to move to another application. |

Before i added the loop for callsound there were alot of users which did not understand why there is no loop for it. I think there are not many users which are annoyed by this loop. If you know me then you know that i'm not the man who makes for every fuzzy thing an option - this would blow up the application. The thing with loops is your wish, i get many wishes every week. If i would implement all thise things then the settingswindow would be bigger then the mainwindow. It has not to do with the time which i need to change it back in MPE, it has to do with principles.
PS: Zitat: | Eventually, to move to another application. | Thats OK for me, but please don't forget to tell me the name of the application where you can set if a incoming call-sound should loop or not |

Hi FJ,
Your post was a fascinating insight into your thinking. Thanks for being so open.
Please excuse my ignorant questions.
1) Why must the settings window be smaller than the mainwindow?
2) What are the principles you follow for this software?
3) If the loop option was offered on another application, would you then add it to MPE?
Incidentally, as I have said before, I think MPE is an excellent application. I like the design and the way you improve the program. I enjoy using the program - which is one of the reasons I make suggestions for improvement. |

1) MPE should be an easy-to-use-software. So if there are options for every small thing, many users would be overstrained and would blow up the application. It should be a fast application which you can learn to handle in a few minutes, or with other words a software which you can use intuitionally. |
