COM Port - connecting via USB Cable and Bluetooth

Hi!
For a long time I have been connecting my K850i to PC only throught bluetooth.
But since I started sending and organizing my photos (and bigger videos) with MyPhoneExplorer...
it tooks to much time to send all photos.

So, as I knew, I could plug the phone through USB, go to settings > Connection and press "Search for device" what i did.
Of course MyPhoneExplorer successfully found it on another COM port (different from Bluetooth COM).

So, my question is..
If I want to connect my phone explorer and K850i alternately, once via Bluetooth, once via USB... Do I always have to change settings, and press "Search for Device" ? Or maybe there is another way, for example something with "User" feature (which partially i don't understand).
I would like to have always the same data in tabs even if I connect through different way USB/Bluetooth, like Phone Contacts, Appointments and Inbox/Sent Messages.
Different connection - same phone.

In the upcoming version 1.7.3 you can set a "alternate Port" - if MPE cannot open the USB-Port then he will use the Bluetooth-Port.

Its no problem to use diffrent ports for the same phone. MyPhoneExplorer loads the Database based on the IMEI of the phone and not based on the Portsetting.

Did the alternate Port feature get dropped from the latest beta (1.73 - 9/7/09)? It is in the release notes feature list.

For the Symbian-Phones Bluetooth does not work good (as you can read also on my Homepage -> only USB recommened). Cause of this reason the "Alternate Port" is not avaiable for Symbian-Phones.
