Outlook beta testing 1.4.16 : first impressions

Outlook sometimes edit values from alone. f.e. A lowercase surname will be converted to propercase. MyPhoneExplorer does not check if an entry were modified - MyPhoneExplorer compares the data in the entry, which is much better for a 100% sync.

Please checkout where the data are not synchron (you can also use "Command3" in the sync-window which i forgot to hide in the last beta)

I understand your wish about a fast sync, but this is very complicated to create. There are much more technical details as you think on the first look. Suggestion: We leave the sync as it is now - when all runs bugfree and i have a more time i can study a littlebit how i can create a fast sync.

About the update contacts: it's funny that MPE shows always the same five contacts that really arn't touched by anyone...

Beta updated, please use the link in the pinned thread of the german supportsection

- Sunbird supported (only up to Version 0.2)
- Better interface for whole-day-events
- new buttons in callcontrol-window: enable speaker, set volume
- some bugs fixed in contactsync

-> Is there a suggested way to re-initialize MPE archives? I've proceeded this way:
- Disabled Outlook Sync enabled MPE only.
- Selected all items
- Deleted all.
- Sync
- Re-enabled Outlooks sync
- Sync

->BTW: deleting Calendar events is twice as faster then deleting contacts.

-> Leading '0' in area codes are back to work!

-> On further resyncs, still forceing 5 unmodified contacts

How you mean reinitialize the sync. Do you mean how you can reset the links to the different entrys in Outlook ? If yes then:
- Close MyPhoneExplorer
- delete the file "phonebook.dat" in your database-folder
- start myphoneexplorer and download the entire phonebook

By the way - i also added a category-filter for outlook-sync (forgot to add it in the change-log)

Could you export the five outlook contacts as vCard and send it zipped to me via email ?

I'll post the contacts in 5 minutes time, in the meanwhile I'd like to know what's written about categories.. it's written in German and can't understand if it is an exclusion or inclusion method.

I think you shoul support both....

Sorry - its inclusion method. I think its enought - the exactly description is: Add new contacts from Outlook only if they contains one of the following categories:

Hum.... I'dont know if it is easier to stick to the contrary... In my case I use a dozen categories and to make it easier I've used the 'NoSync' category, so I only need to specify to exclude 'NoSync'.....

You could add a 'minus' sign that beheaves like the '+' but excludes what you select?

BTW did you receive the zip file? I've got a reply from the mail server that the messages has been delayed...

Sorry, I've been trying since 2 days, using multiple email accounts but still get error from the mail server....

I really don't know whats going wrong with my mailserver. I get per day 10 up to 20 mails, so i don't think my mailserver is down. Today i got the mail with your five contacts - be sure i need this only for debugging - if its fixed the file will be deleted from my PC.

Arr.... did try, but still 4 entries untouched popping out... should I send MPE's log by email?

BTW How do you enable the speaker on incoming call?
