Hi,

I had regularly used MPE to sync photos taken with my Android phone, until I made a trip to Portugal last December. I took hundreds of photos and movie clips (over one gigabyte, I think).

Once back from the trip, I wanted to sync again as usual and the announced duration of the sync operation was literally hours. So I plugged in the USB cord and used Windows Explorer to copy the files.

Now, on to my normal two to three weekly photos regimen. When I recently clicked "sync photos", I realized that although the photo files where already in the folder, MPE is copying the files again, appending a "(1)" at the end of the file names.

I need all photos synced because I'm making a backup of my data due to an OS upgrade from KitKat to Lollipop. So I've resorted to letting MPE do its thing, which is currently going on.

Now, my request is: when synchronizing the pictures on the phone with the Pictures folder on the PC, why not ignore a picture if the file is already there? It seems like MPE has its own tracking system for knowing which photo has already been moved to the photo folder on the PC. But the goal being to copy the file to the PC, isn't the file already being there reason enough to not copy it again?

I think not performing an unnecessary task is way better than creating duplicates of files just because stupid Windows Explorer can't keep the original timestamps of files it copies.

What do you think?
