Request To VERIFY PASSWORD Appears Each Time Win7 is Booted

Beitrag von marc r »

On a WIN 7 PRO 64 Machine with my Samsung S5, I get the dialog box to VERIFY PASSWORD from My Phone Explorer each time I boot the computer. Is this normal? I am using the 6 digit number from the phone, and once I enter it, all is okay, until the next boot request. Is this a known issue????? Anyway to resolve this?

Well, maybe you tell us first, about what password we´re speaking here.
Is it the Wifi Password? If so, you set this yourself and so this functions seems to be working perfectly.

PIN Number Required

Beitrag von marc r »

The PIN Number that is being requested each Boot is the NUMERIC Number one chooses when setting up the Client on your phone.

The Term "WiF-PIN" is somewhat misleading as the MPE Screen on the phone wants a Numeric ONLY PIN of your choosing to keep it secure... NOT the PIN of your WI-Fi Router. I just wished to make that Clear as what MPE on the PC is asking each boot.

I hope this clarify what we are trying to resolve.

Well, you don´t have to choose any code to set up the client. But when you do, you´ll have to enter it.

Code or No Code...... It needs to be Addressed

Beitrag von marc r »

Repeated previous attempts to resolve this failed, but this time I did NOT enter a code.. So at this point it's NOT asking for it each time I boot, however a PIN Code was designed in for a reason, and I hope "fj" can find the time to repair this much needed security option.

There is nothing to repair. Everything works on that.

Please Clarify

Beitrag von marc r »

Koelner...

You say "Everything Works"..... I certainly don't wish to expose anything via an unsecured connection, and are you saying that it is normal for my MPE on my PC to ask and require the PIN Number from the Phone EVERY time I Boot?

That certainly does not seem correct.. and one assumes that the PIN number would automatically handshake upon initial connection.

The real other problem here is that it does NOT accept the PIN # that I have placed in the phone..... It rejects it each time, so there is obviously a problem here as others have documented.

Not trying to be argumentative... just wanted to be clear that this ongoing bug is marring an otherwise great application.

As I said a few posts above, I went for many weeks not needing to enter the PW. Then it started asking every time I synced. It still does.
