Address Field & comma

Beitrag von Maxim M. »

In my Outlook 2007 in my contacts I never used HOME ADDRESS. So its empty.
At the time of synchronization, i'm facing the issue that MPE adding "," (comma) in to the home address.

Please note that issue is with Home Address only, Work Address syncing always Ok! No any Comma Added.

Why?
I see a lot of conversation about this matter, but none of them are solved. Is the developer doing fixing on this matter or not?

If I need to pay for fixing, just let me know how much, but I like to ask to fix this matter ASAP. As overwise I need to search for another program.

Kindly respond.

PS. Here previous reports about similar problem since 2014:

Is there a solution to this additional comma in the address field, please? Every time I synchronise, the same three records are presented to me as being different. For each record MPE seems to add a comma and a carriage return to the city. This occurs when the Outlook record contains only the City field and no other address fields.

It is most likely that you have a blank somewhere in that datafield.
It´s possible that you accidently entered a space character somewhere. Although you don´t see it, it´s there and that´s what the MPE want´s to sync then.

Check these entries and be sure to "delete" everything even thoug you don´t see it. That might help.

SOLVED

Thank you for your response.

I tried the suggestion and, unfortunately, it didn't fix my problem. I re-created the contacts, and deleted the old ones, and this killed the carriage return but not the comma.

I then entered a Country in to the Outlook address field and this resolved the problem - previously I had left the Country field blank. Perhaps MPE is expecting a Country to be selected from the dropdown, and I had left it blank.

For the record, for these addresses I had only used the City field. I had not used the subsequent three fields:
  • State/Province
    ZIP/Postal Code
    Country/Region
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. I now need to be disciplined and always use the Country dropdown for my home-country addresses.
